Method of Teaching
Use Blackline Master 7.1 to create an overhead or handout for using the SOLVER
in applications with right triangles. Next, use Blackline Masters 7.2 and 7.3 to
create worksheets for the students. Point out to the students that the SOLVER
is an alternative to the methods of solution introduced in Chapter 5. Use the
topics For Discussion to supplement the worksheets.
While in the SOLVER, press 2ndF SOLVER , touch A METHOD and notice that
the SOLVER utilizes three methods of solving equations. The Equation method
is discussed in this chapter. The Graphic and Newton methods will be
discussed in Chapter 8.
Using Blackline Master 7.2
A rectangle has length 16 cm and width 8.6 cm. Find the degree measure of
