The Sharper Image Massaging Foot Spa (model HF775) is a personal care appliance designed to provide a relaxing and invigorating foot massage experience. It features hot water jets, bubbles, and various pedicure attachments to soothe and revitalize tired feet.
Function Description:
The Massaging Foot Spa offers a multi-faceted approach to foot care. Its primary function is to provide a massaging action through ten powerful jets located at the bottom of the spa, which can be switched between water jets and bubble jets using a function dial. This helps to stimulate circulation and relieve muscle tension in the feet. The spa also incorporates an infrared heat function, which delivers deep penetrating heat therapy to the soles of the feet, promoting relaxation and comfort. A water heating function is included to warm cold water to a comfortable temperature, enhancing the spa experience. This heating function is active only when the jet action function is also in use. For additional foot care, the spa features a Pedicure Center with five spinning attachments: a pumice stone for smoothing and softening dry skin on heels and soles, two massaging nodes for a relaxing massage from the balls of the feet to the heels, and two brushes (one soft, one firm) for cleaning and exfoliating the skin. Users can also achieve a deep penetrating massage by sliding their feet back and forth over the acupressure surface on the spa floor and the infrared surface.
Important Technical Specifications:
The device operates on a nominal 120V circuit and is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for safety. It is crucial to ensure the unit is properly grounded according to local codes and ordinances to reduce the risk of electric shock. Temporary adapters may be used to connect to a two-prong receptacle if a properly grounded outlet is unavailable, but these adapters must be properly installed and secured. The unit is designed for personal, non-professional use.
Usage Features:
- Preparation: Before use, ensure the unit is unplugged. Place the spa on the floor and fill it with warm or cold water, making sure not to exceed the "fill line" indicator. It is critical never to turn the unit on unless there is water in it.
- Powering On: Plug the unit into a standard wall outlet. Never plug or unplug the unit while your feet are in the water.
- Activating Features: To select a feature, press the corresponding button on the control panel. To turn a feature off, press the button again.

- Jet Action: Activates ten powerful jets for invigorating action. To activate the Power Jets, press your feet down on the POWER JETS button. The jets will work at full capacity as long as the button is pressed.

- Deep Massage: For a deeper massage, slide your feet back and forth over the acupressure surface and the infrared surface.
- Duration: Generally, the unit should not be used for longer than 30 minutes at a time to prevent overheating. If overheating occurs, discontinue use and allow the unit to cool before resuming operation.
- Disconnection: When finished, turn off all functions and unplug the unit.
- Emptying Water: To empty the water, tip the unit, allowing water to spill out only along the drain spouts. Do NOT pour water over the control panel, as this can cause serious harm to the unit.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning. Rinse the unit with water, but do not submerge it. Wipe surfaces only with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using strong chemical cleaners.
- Cord Care: Periodically straighten the power cord if it becomes twisted. To avoid breakage, do not wrap the power cord around the unit. Do not carry or hang the unit by the power cord.
- Storage: Unplug the unit from the outlet and allow it to cool. Place all attachments in the designated storage compartment (as shown in Figure F in the manual). Store the unit in its original box or a clean, dry place.
