Overview

The Sharper Image Space Blaster Shooting Game (Item No. 206000) is an infrared battle game designed for two players, offering both competitive head-to-head action and a cooperative target shooting experience. The game set includes two blasters and a central target projector, providing a comprehensive and engaging play environment.

Function Description:

The core function of the game revolves around infrared technology. The blasters emit infrared signals, which are detected by the opponent's blaster in Battle Mode or by the central projector in Target Mode. This allows for simulated shooting and hit detection without physical projectiles, ensuring a safe play experience.

Battle Mode: In this mode, two players engage in a direct competition to "zap" their opponent's blaster. Each player starts with 12 lives, and the objective is to deplete the opponent's lives first. The blasters feature a scoreboard with LED lights that indicate remaining lives, with each light representing 4 lives. When a blaster is hit, it emits a shrieking sound, and the corresponding scoreboard light begins to flash. After 4 hits, a red light illuminates; after 8 hits, an orange light turns on. Once a blaster has been hit 12 times, all scoreboard lights will be on, signifying that the player is out of the game. Players have 6 shots before needing to reload. The light indicator on the blaster will flash red when a reload is required. Reloading is performed by pressing the Reload button located on the bottom of the blaster handle. To restart a new game, the winner of the previous game must hold down the Reset button on their gun.

Target Mode: This mode offers a different gameplay experience where both players work together or compete for high scores by shooting at meteor targets projected onto a wall by the central projector. The projector randomly projects 36 consecutive meteor images around the room. Players aim their blasters at these projected targets and pull the trigger. A "woohoo" sound indicates a hit, while a "boing" sound signifies a miss. The player with the most hits after all 36 meteors have been projected is declared the winner. This mode can be adjusted for difficulty, with options for 180° (easy) and 360° (hard) projection ranges.

Important Technical Specifications:
