Overview

This document is a Quick Start Guide for a Network Camera in the Face Detection Series.

Function Description

This network camera is designed for surveillance with a focus on face detection. It captures images and can perform face detection, saving detected faces and associated information. The camera supports various alarm triggers based on face detection and offers network connectivity for remote access and configuration.

Important Technical Specifications

Camera Installation & Surrounding Areas:

  • Installation Position: Right in front of the passage to capture full-frontal faces.
  • Installation Height: 2.0m to 3.5m (adjustable based on focal-length and object distance).
  • Depression Angle (α): Less than or equal to 15°.
  • Object Distance (D): Depends on the lens's focal-length.
  • Optimal Surveillance Width (2.4m):
    • Focal-length (7-22mm W): Optimal Object Distance 3.6m, Installation Height 2.1m, Camera's Depression Angle 10°.
    • Focal-length (7-22mm T): Optimal Object Distance 6.0m, Installation Height 2.6m, Camera's Depression Angle 10°.
  • Face Detection Accuracy: Captured faces should deviate less than 30° leftward/rightward or 20° upward/downward.
  • Lighting: Requires clear, adequate, and even light for face detection. White light mode can be enabled for compensation in low brightness or dark conditions.
  • Inapplicable Scenes: Crowded scenes (airport, railway station, square), backlight scenes, crossroads.

Connectivity:

  • Ethernet Connector: For network connection.
  • MIC Audio Input: For audio input.
  • HP Audio Output: For audio output.
  • CVBS Video Output: For composite video output.
  • Alarm Input/Output: For connecting to alarm systems.
  • RS485: For serial communication.
  • Power Connector: For power supply.
  • DC IN & CVBS Interface: Combined interface for DC power and CVBS.
  • Micro SD Card Slot: For local storage.
  • Zoom + / Zoom -: For adjusting zoom.
  • Reset Button: For resetting the device.
  • Power Supply: DC12V/AC24 (PoE switch can be used, eliminating the need for DC12V/AC24).

Network Configuration:

  • Default IP Address: 192.168.226.201.
  • Default Administrator Username: admin.
  • Default Administrator Password: 123456.

Physical Dimensions:

  • Mounting Base: 64.6mm x 64.6mm, with a diameter of 05 for screw holes.

Usage Features

Installation:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the mounting surface (wall or ceiling) is strong enough to support 3 times the camera's weight and install in a dry environment.
  2. Drilling: Use the provided drill template to mark and drill screw holes and a cable hole.
  3. Cabling: Route and connect necessary cables (Ethernet, audio, power, alarm, RS485, CVBS).
  4. Mounting: Fasten the mounting base to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Bracket Adjustment: Preview the camera image on a monitor, then loosen fixed screws to adjust the view angle. Tighten screws after adjustment.
  6. SD Card Installation: Open the camera cover, insert a micro SD card.
  7. Image Optimization: Press the T/W button to obtain an optimum image.
  8. Cover Installation: Install the cover back and fix it firmly with screws.

Network Connection:

  1. Physical Connection: Connect the camera and PC to the LAN.
  2. IP-Tool: Install the IP-Tool from the CD.
  3. IP Address Modification:
    • Use the IP-Tool to find the camera.
    • Click "Modify Network Parameter" to change the IP address and gateway to match your network (e.g., 192.168.1.X for IP, 192.168.1.1 for Gateway).
    • Enter the administrator password ("123456") and click "Modify".
  4. Accessing IP-CAM:
    • Double-click the camera in the IP-Tool or manually enter its IP address in a web browser.
    • Download and install the required plugin.
    • Enter the username ("admin") and password ("123456") to log in.

Alarm Connection:

  1. Alarm Input: Join the grounding ends of the sensor and the camera, then connect the signal cable of the sensor to the alarm input port.
  2. Alarm Output: Loosen screws in the alarm output port, insert signal wires of alarm output devices into COM and OPEN ports, and tighten screws.

Network Cable Connection:

  1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
  2. Run the network cable (with RJ45 connector) through both elements. Crimp the cable with an RJ45 connector.
  3. Connect the cable to the hermetic connector, then tighten the nut and main cover.

Face Detection Settings:

  1. Access Settings: Go to Config → Event → Face Detection → Detection Config.
  2. Enable Face Detection: Turn on the face detection function.
  3. Save Source Information: Check this option to save the whole picture to a local PC or SD card when a face is detected.
    • Note: For local PC storage, enable local face information storage (Config → System → Local Config). For SD card storage, install an SD card and check "Trigger Snap".
  4. Alarm Settings: Set alarm holding time and trigger options (e.g., "Trigger Alarm Out", "Trigger Snap", "Trigger SD Recording").
  5. Area Settings:
    • Go to Config → Event → Face Detection → Area.
    • Click "Draw Area", drag to define the detection rectangle, and click "Stop Draw".
    • Set minimum and maximum values for detected face size.
  6. Schedule Settings:
    • Go to Config → Event → Face Detection → Schedule.
    • Use "Erase" to cancel schedules, "Add" to add schedules, and "Manual Input" for specific start/end times.
    • Click "Save" to save settings for each tab.
  7. Live View Interface: In the live view, a flashing indicator signifies face detection is enabled and faces are detected. Detected faces are traced in the detected area.
  8. White Light Mode & Face Exposure Setting:
    • Go to Config → Event → Face Detection → Advanced tab.
    • Enable white light mode (Manual or Auto) for light compensation in low brightness.
    • Enable face exposure function if the captured face is not bright enough.
  9. Deactivate Face Detection: Go to Config → Event → Face Detection and uncheck "Enable".

Maintenance Features

  • Reset Button: Allows for resetting the camera.
  • Firmware Updates: While not explicitly mentioned, network cameras typically support firmware updates for bug fixes and new features.
  • Troubleshooting: The guide provides steps for network connection and configuration, which are common areas for troubleshooting.
  • Environmental Considerations: The instruction to install in a dry environment and ensure adequate lighting helps in maintaining optimal performance and longevity.
