Table 11: PDO: Detailed description
Name Value Description
START 0 -->1
1 -->0
Starts the selected command when the bit is inverted. If Auto-
Read or Auto-Write is selected, bit switching runs automati‐
cally as long as a transponder is within the RF range. When
switching to another mode (“CMD”), the command must be
started with “START” = 1.
Antenna status 0/1 0: RD field off
1: RF field on
Command 0/1/2/3/4/5 0: No command
1: Auto-Read
2: Auto-Write
3: Read
4: Write
5: Read UID
Number of blocks Number of memory blocks to read/write
Address First memory block in which the command is run
RFU (Reserved for future use) Reserved

Conversion RSSI value, example for value = 0xFE4C:
0xFFFF - 0xFE4C = 0X1B3 = 435 = -43.5dBm
8.3.2 Service data
NOTE
The device contains a rewritable memory (flash memory) for storing configuration data
(parameters), such as Application Specific Tag, Location and Function Tag, RF field, etc.
It is highly recommended that permanent writing of configuration data only be per‐
formed during commissioning. The device is not designed for permanent rewriting of
configuration data during operation. Temporary storage is not affected by this, e.g.,
data storage (backup/restore) in the IO-Link master, which takes place in the volatile
memory (RAM) of the device.
Make sure to keep the writing of ISDUs as minimal as possible during operation. The
device offers the option of being written with a total of 100,000bytes. Permanent
storage on the device is also no longer possible.
