This document describes the Siemens WM14N2E9DN washing machine, providing user manual and installation instructions.
Function Description
The Siemens WM14N2E9DN is a washing machine designed for domestic use, capable of washing machine-washable fabrics and hand-washable wool according to care labels. It operates with tap water and commercially available detergents and care products suitable for washing machines. The appliance features a continuous automatic load adjustment function that optimizes water consumption and program duration based on fabric type and load capacity. It also includes an Aqua-Sensor that checks the turbidity of rinsing water and adjusts rinse cycles accordingly.
The washing machine offers various programs tailored for different fabric types and soiling levels, including:
- Bomuld (Cottons): For hard-wearing cotton, linen, or blended fabrics, also suitable as a short program for normally soiled laundry when
varioSpeed is activated (reducing max load to 5 kg).
- Bomuld Intensiv (Cottons Intensive): An energy-saving program for cotton, linen, or blended fabrics.
- Eco 40-60: For normally soiled cotton, linen, or blended fabrics, allowing mixed washing of textiles with care symbols at 40 °C or 60 °C. The washing temperature is optimized for energy efficiency and cannot be changed.
- Strygelet (Easy Care): For synthetic or blended fabrics.
- Mix (Mixed Load): For lightly soiled cotton, linen, synthetic, or blended fabrics.
- Finvask/Silke (Delicates/Silk): For delicate, washable items made from silk, viscose, and synthetics, requiring a suitable detergent.
- Uld (Wool): For hand- or machine-washable wool items, with gentle drum movements and long pauses to prevent shrinking, requiring a wool-specific detergent.
- Skylning (Rinse): Rinses and spins laundry, then drains water.
- Centrifugering/Udpumpning (Spin/Drain): Spins and drains water. Can be set to
- 0 for draining without spinning.
- Jeans/Mørkt tøy (Jeans/Dark laundry): For dark-colored cotton or easy-care fabrics like jeans, to be washed inside-out with liquid detergent.
- Lingeri (Lingerie): For delicate synthetic fabrics, silk, or Lycra, requiring a suitable detergent and preferably a mesh laundry bag for items with hooks or clips.
- Outdoor/Imprægnering (Outdoor/Waterproofing): For all-weather and outdoor clothing with membrane technology, suitable for washing and then waterproofing using specific detergents and waterproofing agents.
- Skjorter (Shirts): For non-iron shirts and blouses, with an option to activate
varioSpeed to reduce creasing.
- (sports/fitness): For synthetic fibers, microfibre, or fleece sports and leisure items, requiring a suitable detergent and no fabric softener.
- Super 15'/30' (Super 15'/30'): A short program for small items of lightly soiled cotton or synthetic fabrics (approx. 30 minutes, reducible to 15 minutes with
varioSpeed activated, reducing max load to 2 kg).
- Tromlerengøring (Drum clean): A program for cleaning and caring for the drum, recommended before first use, for regular washing at 40 °C or lower, or after prolonged non-use. Requires washing powder or bleach-containing detergent, halved dosage to avoid foaming, and no fabric softener or liquid detergent for wool/delicates.
The appliance includes a childproof lock to prevent unintentional operation. It also features an energy-saving mode that activates automatically after an extended period of inactivity.

Usage Features
The washing machine is operated via a control panel with a program selector and buttons. The display shows current settings, options, and relevant information such as program duration, remaining time, recommended load, spin speed, and temperature.
Basic Operation:
- Switching on: Turn the program selector to a desired program.
- Setting a program: Select the program using the program selector.
- Adjusting program settings: Modify temperature, spin speed,
varioSpeed, Prewash, or Water Plus and Rinse Plus options using the buttons.
- Loading laundry: Open the door, ensure the drum is empty, separate and place laundry in the drum, then close the door.
- Adding detergent and care product: Pull out the detergent drawer, pour in detergent and any care products (e.g., fabric softener) into the appropriate compartments, then push the drawer back in. A measuring aid for liquid detergent can be used.

Maintenance Features
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the appliance's long-term efficiency.
Appliance Care Tips:
- Wipe down the housing and control panel with water and a soft, damp cloth.
- Leave the appliance door and detergent drawer open after each use to allow residual water to dry and prevent odors.
Cleaning the Drum:
- Run the
Tromlerengøring program regularly, especially if washing frequently at 40 °C or lower, or after prolonged non-use. Use washing powder or bleach-containing detergent (halved dosage) and avoid fabric softener or liquid detergent for wool/delicates.
Cleaning the Detergent Drawer:
- Pull out the detergent drawer.
- Press down on the insert and remove the drawer.
- Press out the insert upwards from below.
- Clean the drawer and insert with water and a brush, then dry them.
- Fit the insert back into place and push in the detergent drawer.
- Clean the opening for the detergent drawer.
Descaling:
- If detergent is added correctly, descaling is usually not necessary. If descaling is desired, use only descaling agents approved by the manufacturer or after-sales service, following their instructions.
Cleaning the Drain Pump:
- In case of faults (e.g., blockages, rattling noises), the drain pump needs cleaning.
- Turn off the water tap, switch off the appliance, and disconnect the mains plug.
- Open the maintenance flap and slide a receptacle underneath.
- Take out the drain hose, remove its sealing cap, and drain any residual detergent solution (caution: hot water if washing at high temperatures).
- Firmly press the sealing cap back on and insert the drain hose into its holder.
- Remove the pump cap carefully (water may remain), clean the interior, pump cap thread, and pump housing.
- Ensure the impeller can rotate freely.
- Insert the pump cap, screwing it on until the handle is vertical.
- Insert and lock the maintenance flap.
Cleaning the Water Outlet Hose at the Siphon:
- If the hose is dirty or detergent solution is not pumping out:
- Switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug.
- Loosen the hose clamp and carefully remove the water outlet hose.
- Clean the hose and siphon connecting piece.
- Reattach the hose and secure with the clamp.
Cleaning the Water Inlet Filters:
- If blockages or low water pressure occur:
- Turn off the tap.
- Run any program (except
Skylning, Centrifugering, Udpumpning) for approx. 40 seconds, then switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug.
- Remove the water inlet hose from the tap, clean the filter with a small brush, and reconnect the hose, checking for leaks.
- Disconnect the hose from the rear of the appliance, use pliers to remove the filter, clean it with a small brush, reinsert it, and reconnect the hose, checking for leaks.
Emergency Release:
- In case of power failure, the door can be manually released. Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool. Do not open if water is visible through the glass.
Transportation, Storage, and Disposal:
- Removing the appliance: Turn off the tap, empty the water inlet hose, switch off the appliance, unplug, drain remaining detergent solution from the drain pump, and detach hoses.
- Inserting transit bolts: Remove cover caps, insert the four sleeves, insert all screws into the transit bolts and tighten, insert the power cord into the holder, and tighten all four screws with a WAF 13 wrench.
- Disposing of old appliance: Unplug, cut the power cord, and damage the door lock. Dispose of environmentally friendly according to local regulations (WEEE directive).
