Product description
Module for reading data from AMS smart meter. Mounted on DIN
rail in fuse box. Connects to HAN interface on AMS smart meter
using a UTP network cable.The ECO Energy Controller must be
connected wirelessly to a Sikom ECO gateway. Available features
will be accessable in the Sikom Living app.
Installation
ECO Energy Controller is mounted on a DIN rail in the fuse box
where the AMS smart meter is located. If the smart meter is
mounted in an outdoor housing, place the ECO Energy Controller
indoors in a fuse box or housing. Use a slightly longer network cable
between AMS smart meter and ECO Energy Controller.
ECO Energy Controller must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Connect one end of the network cable to the HAN-interface of the
AMS smart meter and the other end to the connector on the front of
the ECO Energy Controller.
Antenna must be placed on the outside of the fuse box, on the wall.
Note: Do not place antenna directly on / closer than 5 cm from
metal, metal cabinets, cables or other antennas.
Place minimum 30 cm away from GSM antennas.
230 VAC 50Hz mains is connected to the terminal block, as
illustrated.
Front panel
The front panel of the ECO Energy Controller has two
LED indicators, one button and a smart meter input connector.
LED 1 is green when ECO Energy Controller is powered / in
operation.
LED 2 is green when ECO Energy Controller receives data from
AMS smart meter.
Button is used during registering of Eco Energy Controller to Sikom
gateway.
Network cable connector for communication with AMS power meter
is available on the front panel.
Wireless communication
The Eco Energy Controller interprets and transmits information from
the AMS smart meter wirelessly to a Sikom Eco gateway. The
gateway relays information to Sikom Living app-system. Supported
gateways are listed at the website www.sikomliving.com
Wireless range
Wireless range must be tested at the installation site.
In general: Wireless range between ECO Energy Controller and the
Sikom ECO gateway is about 80 meters in line of sight. Walls,
ceilings, floors and other obstacles will reduce the range. Massive
timber and concrete are examples of materials that will limit the
wireless range. Wireless range in a regular timber frame building is
usually max. 15 meters.
Position the Sikom gateway centrally / within wireless range of the
Eco Energy Controller.
Enabling HAN interface on AMS smart meter
Make sure your AMS smart meter has the possibility to send data
through HAN interface. Contact your electrical network company to
clarify this.
In order to communicate with the AMS smart meter, the HAN
interface on AMS smart meter must be activated. Some AMS smart
meters also require installation of a HAN module inside the meter
and software upgrade. Contact your electrical network company to
prepare / enable the HAN output.
If the ECO Energy Controller receives information from the AMS
smart meter, LED 2 is steady green. If information is readable,
smart meter data is presented in the app.
Register ECO Energy Controller to a Sikom gateway
1. Activate the registration procedure on the Sikom ECO Gateway.
Procedure is described in the manual for the gateway.
2. Within 1 minute, - press and release the button on the front of the
ECO Energy Controller. LED 1 turns off for a short time during
registration.
If Sikom Living app is online with the gateway, a notification will be
received after a successful registration. Repeat procedure if
registration is unsuccessful.
Features
ECO Energy Controller together with a Sikom ECO gateway can
provide realtime information from the smart meter.This information
makes it possible to monitor and control energy consumption. By
using Sikom ECO products to control energy-consuming loads, it is
possible to limit energy consumption peaks and even out energy
consumption. Sikom Living app is the tool used to control these
features. Available features will be presented in the Sikom Living
app.
Warranty
Sikom AS products are covered by a two year warranty against any faults due to material
flaws or manufacturing errors, which limit or render useless certain functions described for
the product. The warranty requires the customer to present the original receipt, with date of
purchase and type of equipment clearly readable.
What is covered by the warranty?
During the warranty period, Sikom AS. reserves the right to repair the product or to replace
defective parts with functionally equivalent parts. If, after several attempts, Sikom AS is
unable to correct the problem, and the product does not work as described in the manual,
Sikom may elect to refund the purchase price or to replace the product with a functionally
equivalent one. All replaced parts and products become the property of Sikom AS.
What is not covered by the warranty?
Indirect damage to life, health, property, revenue and environment caused by circuits and
appliances connected to the units (install and use this product responsibly).
Costs related to (re)installing, transporting and dismantling units; recycling may be
governed by special rules.
Damages caused by use outside of the operating conditions specified in the manual.
Malfunctions caused by transport damages.
Any unauthorized repair, modification or disassembly.
Use of non-original parts.
External factors, such as lightning, power supply issues, mobile network issues, flood
damage or fire.
Units with modified, removed or unreadable serial number.
