Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the Silver Cross Auto stroller, providing essential information for its safe and proper use, maintenance, and care.

Function Description

The Silver Cross Auto is a high-quality stroller designed for transporting children from birth up to 22kg or 4 years, whichever comes first. It complies with safety standard EN1888-2:2018+A1:2022. The stroller features an automatic folding mechanism, making it convenient for parents. It includes a seat unit that can be reclined, with the most reclined position recommended for newborn babies. A restraint system is integrated for the child's safety, and 'D' rings are provided for attaching a separate harness if required, complying with BS 6684. The stroller also has a parking device that must be engaged when placing or removing the child. A basket is included for storage, with a capacity of 5kg.

Usage Features

Unfolding the Stroller: To unfold the stroller, ensure all locking devices are disengaged. The manual illustrates a two-step process: first, releasing a latch (indicated by '1' in the diagram), and then pulling the handle upwards (indicated by '2' and an upward arrow). The stroller should click into place, confirming it is fully unfolded and ready for use.

Wheel Attachment and Swivel Lock: The front wheels need to be attached. The diagrams show how to insert the wheel assembly until it clicks into place. The stroller features a swivel lock mechanism for the front wheels. To engage the swivel lock, press the button or lever down. To disengage it, lift the button or lever up. This allows the wheels to either swivel for maneuverability or be locked for stability on uneven terrain. The manual indicates that this action should be performed for both front wheels (x2).

Brake System: The stroller is equipped with a parking device (brake) located on the rear wheels. To engage the brake, press down on the brake pedal until it locks, indicated by a red color or a 'locked' symbol. To release the brake, lift the pedal up, indicated by a green color or an 'unlocked' symbol. The brake must always be engaged when placing or removing the child from the stroller.

Reclining the Seat Unit: The seat unit can be reclined to multiple positions. The manual shows a mechanism, typically a lever or button, that allows the seat to be adjusted. To recline, press the button and pull the seat back downwards. To bring the seat to a more upright position, push the seat back upwards until it clicks into the desired position. The most reclined position is recommended for newborns.

Harness System: The stroller features a 5-point harness system to secure the child.

  • Adjusting Shoulder Straps: The shoulder straps can be adjusted for height. The manual shows how to thread the straps through different slots in the seat back to accommodate the child's growth. There are typically three height positions (3, 2, 1) to choose from.
  • Adjusting Waist Straps: The waist straps can be adjusted for length. The manual illustrates how to pull the strap through a buckle to tighten or loosen it.
  • Connecting the Harness: To secure the child, insert the two shoulder/waist buckle components into the central buckle until they click into place.
  • Releasing the Harness: To release the harness, press the button on the central buckle.
  • Adjusting the Crotch Strap: The crotch strap can also be adjusted for length to ensure a snug fit.

Canopy Adjustment: The canopy can be adjusted to provide shade and protection. The manual shows how to pull the canopy forward or push it back.

Folding the Stroller: The Silver Cross Auto stroller features an automatic folding mechanism. The manual illustrates a two-step process for folding:

  1. Initiating the Fold: Press a button or lever (indicated by '1' in the diagram) and then a second button or lever (indicated by '2').
  2. Completing the Fold: The stroller will then collapse automatically. Ensure the canopy is folded back before initiating the fold. The final folded position is compact for storage and transport.
