To program the function keys of a 2120 Multiplex for the Acknowledge (ACK),
Signal Silence (SIG SIL), and Detector Reset (DET RST) commands, follow the
steps below.
IMPORTANT: These configurations are for the 2120 Multiplex
function keys ONLY. The 2120 port MUST be set up
for Acknowledge (ACK).
To program the Acknowledge (ACK) command follow Steps 1 through 4.
Note: Function Key <F7> is the first available key for this operation. <F7>,
<F8>, and <F9> are the standard function keys used for this procedure.
1. Press the <RETURN> key to toggle the function keys represented on the
screen. Highlight the <F7> box on the screen.
2. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key and move to Text: field.
3. Press and hold down the <CTRL> key and press the <A> key. This prompts a
display of á on the screen.
4. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key and move to Label: field and type
ACK.
To program the Signal Silence (SIG SIL) command follow Steps 5 through 8.
5. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key and move to the <F7> box on the screen.
Press the <RETURN> key and highlight the <F8> box.
6. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key and move to Text: field.
7. Press and hold down the <CTRL> key and press the <S> key. This prompts a
display of ù on the screen.
8. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key to move to Label: field and type
SIG SIL.
To program the Detector Reset command for the 2120 CRT/Keyboard follow
Steps 9 through 12.
9. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key to move to the <F8> box on the screen.
Press the <RETURN> key to move to <F9>.
10. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key to move to Text: field.
11. Press and hold down the <CTRL> key and the <D> key. A display of ã
displays on the screen.
12. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key to move to Label: field and type
DET RST.
After following the configuration steps above, save the configuration by pressing
<F14>. The message Save all? (Y/N) appears on the upper right of the
screen. Press <Y> and then press the <RETURN> key.
