Clean all dirt and grass from underside
of mower, discharge chute, and grass
catcher bag.
A WARNING
Disconnect spark plug wire and fasten it away
from the spark plug before tipping the mower
to work underneath it.

1. Clean all dirt and chaff from engine
fins. Remove engine blower housing
as necessary.
2. Clean air filter.
A. Remove screw on top of air filter,
and remove air filter.
B. Wash foam filter with kerosene
or soap and water.
C. Dry foam element thoroughly.
D. Soak foam with engine oil,
squeezing it several times to
distribute oil through foam
and to wring out excess.
E. Reassemble air filter.
