Normal Care
1. If the battery has not been used for an ex¬
tended period of time (brand new in the
carton, off-season storage etc.), charge it for
14-24 hours to restore full charge (see fig¬
ure 24).
2. Charge the battery as needed during the cut¬
ting season for 14-24 hours when it no longer
cranks the engine adequately.
3. The battery can be charged for 14-24 hours
before and after off-season storage.
4. Store the battery in a cool place. Stor^e
temperatures of 100°F or more accelerate
self-discharge and should be avoided.
5. The battery has built-in protection against
overcharge and will not be damaged if left on
charge for extended periods. Charging longer
than 24 hours should be unnecessary.
6. Charging is most effective at or near room
temperature (75°F). Charging at sub-zero
temperatures is not detrimental but requires
more time. Charging at elevated tempera¬
tures can be harmful.
CAUTION
Use only the charger supplied with your
mower. Other chargers may permanently
damage the battery.
