4. Loosen the nut that secures the idler
pulley belt guide (figure 24) and slip the
belt out.
5. Remove the belt from the engine drive
pulley.
6. Slip the belt out of the belt guide which
is bolted to bottom of tractor.
7. Turn the belt sideways to slip it off the
transmission pulley.
8. Slip the belt down off the PTO pulley.
Remove it from the tractor by slipping
it over the gear shift lever.

9. I n stall the new belt in reverse order of
removal. The belt pattern is shown in
figure 25. Be sure the belt guide (figure
24) is positioned in the center area of the
belt that contacts pulley. The belt must
not touch guide when tractor clutch is
engaged (pedal up). To tighten belt
guide, hold the capscrew while tighten¬
ing the nut.
