Check that the PTO (electric clutch) switch is in the OFF position and the cruise control is disengaged (NEUTRAL/OFF position). Make sure you have enough fuel; if the engine is hot, let it cool before refilling. If the engine is flooded, disengage the choke. Also, the battery might be discharged or dead, requiring a recharge or replacement. Visually inspect the wiring for any loose or broken connections. For issues like a blown fuse, faulty solenoid or starter motor, faulty safety interlock switch, water in the fuel, or old gas, it's best to consult an authorized dealer.

Make sure the discharge chute isn't jamming by directing it towards the previously cut area. Allow the engine to warm up for several minutes before engaging the mower, and start the mower in a cleared area.
