2.5 Typical Troubleshooting for
S series Outdoor Unit Drive (Inverter) by Three-phase Motor
(Applicable to ASGE-36AI-3 S)

It is mistake due to
interference. Please check if
there is interference or if
wiring of the electric box is
wrong.
Does compressor
start running?
1. Check if L1, L2, L3 is rightly connected.
2. Test the power supply with universal
meter to check if there is much fluctuation
between two power cords.
3. If all of the above items are normal,
check the following items 1 min after
power off.
(1) Check if the wire of driving board is
reliably connected.
(2) Check if screws fixing the IPM module
are tight. If not, it will lead to superheat of
the module or IPM protection.
(3) Check the silica gel under IPM module
is even.
(4) Check if the radiator is dirty or blocked,
which will cause bad radiating or
protection.
(5) If all of the above problems have been
removed, inspect the ventilation of the
outdoor unit. During cooling, if the outdoor
temperature is too high, it will cause bad
radiating or protection..

Inspect the following items 1 min after
power off.
1. Check if the IPM module is damaged.
Steps: remove the UVW 3-phase wire and
PN wire of the compressor. Measure the
resistance of U-N, V-N, W-N, P-U, P-V, P-
W with universal meter. If it is more than
200Ω, it is normal. Otherwise, the module
may be damaged. It is necessary to
change main board.
2. Check if the wire of driving board is
reliably connected.
