SIOX Modem Expander R40
General Description
R40 is an interface unit be-
tween a GSM modem and
several serial devices using
RS232, RS485 and a SIOX
bus. It is powered from mains
or a DC supply, 10..48 V.
In addition, it includes 2 ana-
log inputs which also may be
used for alarms etc. Its en-
hanced PLC programmability
permits it to work standalone,
as a protocol converter or as
the multiplexer for a modem.
Versions: R40-3, 12V powered SIOX Modem Expander.

Modem

Modem-to-SIOX LINK Mode

Copies characters between the GSM modem and the SIOX bus for direct communication.

Modem-to-Serial LINK Mode

Links serial buffers with modem buffers for data transfer independent of speed/format.

SIOX Text-to-Serial LINK Mode

Allows SIOX Text messages to operate directly on serial port buffers, bypassing the modem.

Parameter Setup

Parameter 00: Soft Reset

Copies EEPROM to RAM for a full soft reset, using previous EEPROM value.

Parameter 01: Serial Errors

Allows buffering of received characters with incorrect parity or bits.

Parameter 04: Link Modes

Configures modem reset, data carrier detect, send requests, and buffer flushing.

Configures SIOX Link to Modem, Link No Echo, and SIOX Break indications.

Parameter 12: PLC Timer Tick

Sets PLC timer tick frequency for timing operations.

Sets RS485 status, data bits, stop bits, parity, and bit rate.

Parameters 06-07: RS232 Mode

Configures RS232 hardware status, data bits, stop bits, parity, and bit rate.

Parameter 10: DO Register

Controls PLC bits Q8-Q1 for SIOX code reception and relay control.

Parameter 11: DI Register

Provides DI register for PLC bits and digital inputs status.
