The Siretta SNYPER-5G Graphyte (GL) and SNYPER-IoT Graphyte (GL) are cellular network analyzers designed for surveying mobile phone, cellular router, and cellular IoT networks worldwide. The SNYPER-5G Graphyte (GL) supports 5G NR (SA and NSA), LTE, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GSM networks, while the SNYPER-IoT Graphyte (GL) is a subset that surveys only LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GSM networks, typically associated with IoT devices. Visually, the SNYPER-5G Graphyte (GL) is identified by a yellow protective bumper, and the SNYPER-IoT Graphyte (GL) by a green bumper. The term "Graphyte" in the manual refers to both models unless specified otherwise.
Function Description:
The Graphyte allows operators to identify available networks and cells within coverage. It can then optionally lock onto a specific cell to monitor its received signal strength in "liveSCAN" mode. The device reports various operational parameters of discovered cells, including operating frequency, Cell ID, signal strength, and noise levels, enabling informed decisions about network suitability and selection. Both normal and liveSCAN modes can run continuously, with all measurements saved and HTML-formatted summary documents generated.
Survey data can be uploaded via a USB cable to a PC, where HTML files can be viewed in a web browser and CSV files imported into Microsoft Excel for further analysis. Additionally, surveys can be saved to the CloudSURVEY portal, which offers features like PDF reports and cell mapping (requires an internet-enabled PC). Lifetime use of CloudSURVEY is included with the Graphyte purchase for backup and sharing surveys.
The Graphyte supports a wide range of frequency bands from 600 MHz to 4700 MHz, covering popular cellular bands globally. A special Delta 47 antenna is supplied to ensure optimal performance across this broad frequency range.

Usage Features:
Getting Started:
- Antenna Connection: The Graphyte comes with general-purpose hinged antennas (black) and a general-purpose directional antenna. For the first survey, use the black antenna(s) screwed onto the SMA female connector(s) on top of the Graphyte. For SNYPER-5G, two black hinged antennas are supplied and should be fitted to each connector. Antennas should be positioned vertically for best performance. The SMA connector has a rubber grommet for a watertight seal.
- USB-C Connector and SIM Card Reader: The device has a USB-C connector for power and data transfer, and a SIM card slot. Before first use, it's recommended to charge the Graphyte for at least 4 hours. The status LED illuminates red when charging and green when fully charged.
- SIM Card: For SNYPER-5G Graphyte, a 5G enabled SIM card is required for 5G NSA detection, as it first requires registration onto an LTE cell. The SIM card should be a Mini-SIM (2FF) and its contacts should face down. Fitting a SIM card into a SNYPER-IoT Graphyte is not necessary.
- Display and Controls: The Graphyte features a main display, status LED (Red for charging, Green for fully charged, Blue for power-on initialization), current time, charge indication, back button, OK button, and up/down/left/right buttons for navigation. The power button turns the device on/off (press and hold for 5 seconds to power off).
Conducting a Survey:
- First Survey: Connect a Delta 47 antenna. Charge the unit for at least 4 hours. Power on by holding the power button. The main menu will be displayed after a splash screen.
- Survey Modes:
- Single Survey: A single, complete scan of the cellular environment. Users select "Survey" from the main menu, then choose "All Networks" (scans all available carriers) or "SIM Operator Only" (scans networks associated with the inserted SIM card). For 5G, "SIM Operator Only" searches for both SA and NSA, while "All Networks" searches exclusively for SA.
- Multiple Cycle Survey (Logging): Performs multiple surveys at programmable intervals. Users select the number of cycles (2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, infinite) and the interval (continuous, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 30, 60, 120 minutes). This mode provides a comprehensive understanding of signal strength fluctuations over time.
- LiveSCAN: A continuous survey where the Graphyte locks onto a user-specified frequency channel and displays real-time received signal strength on a rolling graph. This is useful for aligning directional antennas or pinpointing the best signal location. LiveSCAN requires a prior survey to identify available networks.
- Survey Results: Once a survey is completed, results are automatically saved in HTML and CSV formats. HTML files provide a user-friendly layout, while CSV files contain all cellular network data for detailed analysis in applications like Excel. Logged CSV files contain additional data like timestamp and network information for multi-cycle surveys.
- Viewing Results on Graphyte: Survey results can be accessed from the "Saved Results" menu. Users can view detailed breakdowns of cells, summary data categorized by signal strength, and export reports or full logs.
Maintenance Features:
Battery Management:
- Charging: Connect the USB-C port to a compatible charging source. The Graphyte negotiates power levels for optimal charging. The status LED indicates charging (red) and fully charged (green).
- Monitoring: The Graphyte has a smart sensor to estimate and display remaining battery capacity, accounting for temperature and discharge rate. For best accuracy, perform several full charge/discharge cycles initially and annually.
Updating Software:
- Procedure: Software updates are released periodically for general improvements, bug fixes, and new features. It is advised to back up survey data before updating.
- Download and install SirettaSPARK from the Siretta website.
- Connect the Graphyte to a PC via USB and use SirettaSPARK to connect the device.
- Navigate to the "About" page on the Graphyte to check the current software version.
- Press "Update" in SirettaSPARK to begin the update. Ensure uninterrupted power during the process.
- Confirm the update's success by re-checking the "About" page.
Reset Options:
- Delete All Surveys: Erases all surveys and files from internal memory. A confirmation prompt appears.
- Factory Reset: Resets the unit to factory settings, erasing all configurations and data, including HDD storage. This does not revert software to the factory-supplied version or reset date/time. A confirmation prompt appears.
- Language Setup: Configure the display language (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish).
- Display Setup: Adjust screen brightness (10% to 100%).
- Power Setup: Configure screen dimming (1, 2, 5, 10 minutes, or never) and device power-down (10, 20, 60, 120 minutes, or never) after inactivity to extend battery life.
- Date and Time Setup: Configure date and time, used for timestamping HTML and CSV files.
- Displays IMSI and ICCID numbers of the inserted SIM card. This menu is inaccessible if no SIM card is present.
The Graphyte is a comprehensive tool for cellular network analysis, designed for ease of use while providing detailed insights into network performance and characteristics.
