Overview

The PROFLAME WALL MOUNT TRANSMITTER is an advanced remote control system designed to manage hearth appliance functions. It is an integrated part of the Proflame System and is intended for use with an Integrated Fireplaces Control (Proflame IFC).

Function Description:

The Proflame transmitter provides comprehensive control over various aspects of a hearth appliance. Key functions include:

  • Main Burner On/Off: Simple control to turn the main burner on or off.
  • Main Burner Flame Modulation: Allows for precise adjustment of the flame height across six distinct levels.
  • Pilot Mode Selection: Users can choose between Continuous Pilot Ignition (CPI) and Intermittent Pilot Ignition (IPI) modes.
  • Thermostat and Smart Thermostat Functions: Operates as a room thermostat to maintain a desired comfort level. The Smart Thermostat function intelligently adjusts flame height based on the difference between the set point and actual room temperatures, modulating the flame down as the room approaches the set temperature.
  • Accent Light Modulation: Controls accent lighting with six adjustable levels.
  • Split Flow Valve: Manages a secondary burner, allowing it to be turned on or off.
  • On/Off Relay: Provides control over an auxiliary relay outlet.
  • Comfort Fan Speed Modulation: If the appliance is equipped with a hot air circulating fan, its speed can be adjusted through six levels.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Supply Voltage: Requires 4.5 V, powered by three AAA LR03 1.5 V batteries.
  • Ambient Temperature Ratings: Operates within a range of 0 - 50 °C (32 - 122 °F).
  • Typical Operative Distance in Free Air: Has a typical range of 12 m (39 ft).
  • Radio Frequency: Available in two versions: 315 MHz (FCC version) and 433.92 MHz (CE version).
  • FCC Conformity (for 315MHz version only): Complies with FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Part 15. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) the device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any received interference. Changes not expressly approved by the responsible party could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. FCC ID: T99058404300.

Usage Features:

The transmitter features a streamlined design with a simple button layout and an informative LCD display.

  • LCD Display: A backlit LCD display shows various icons and information, including room temperature, set point, flame level, fan speed, CPI/IPI mode, auxiliary relay status, dimmer level, and a low battery alarm.
  • ON/OFF Key: Used to turn the appliance on or off.
  • THERMOSTAT Key: Indexes between thermostat functions (OFF, ON, SMART).
  • MODE Key: Used to index between different features such as flame control, fan control, auxiliary relay, CPI/IPI selection, dimmer control, and split flow control.
  • UP/DOWN Arrow Keys: Adjust settings like flame height, set temperature, fan speed, accent light intensity, and to activate/deactivate functions.
  • Key Lock: A feature to lock the keys to prevent unsupervised operation. Activated by pressing the MODE and UP Keys simultaneously.
  • Temperature Indication Display: Allows switching between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) display for room temperature. This is done by pressing the Thermostat Key and Mode Key simultaneously when the system is in the "OFF" position.
  • Wall Mounting: The remote control comes with an adapter for wall mounting. It should be installed 1.5 m (5 ft) above floor level, away from heat sources, kitchens, doors, or windows. Metallic structures or radio interferences can reduce the operative distance.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: The transmitter requires three AAA batteries. A Battery icon will appear on the LCD display when the batteries are low, indicating they need to be replaced.
  • System Initialization: For first-time use, the system needs to be initialized by powering the receiver, turning it on, activating its programming mode, and then installing batteries in the transmitter. The receiver will "beep" to confirm synchronization.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Radio Frequency Devices: The transmitter and receiver are radio frequency devices. Placing the transmitter in or near metal may severely reduce the signal range. Metallic structures or radio interferences can also reduce operative distance.
    • Gas Supply: Always turn "OFF" the main gas supply of the appliance during installation or maintenance of the receiver device, and prior to removing or reinserting batteries.
    • Malfunction: In case of remote control malfunction, turn off the IFC device using the "ON/OFF" main switch. For installation/maintenance, switch off the IFC device by removing the main power supply plug.
    • Rechargeable Batteries: The device is not suitable for use with rechargeable batteries, and its operative distance is reduced with low battery levels.
    • Fire Hazard: The transmitter causes ignition of the appliance, which can turn on suddenly. Users should keep away from the appliance burner when operating the remote system.
