Overview

This document describes the SIVUATEK Electric Tankless Water Heater, Model: M1-65, an appliance designed for household and indoor use, providing on-demand hot water. It is ETL Listed with Intertek 5020778, conforming to UL STD.499 and certified to CSA STD.C22.2 NO.64.

Function Description:

The SIVUATEK tankless water heater provides instant hot water without the need for a storage tank. It heats water as it flows through the unit, ensuring a continuous supply of hot water. The device features an electronic control on the front for regulating water temperature, which is displayed on an LED screen. It is designed to be permanently connected to a fixed double pole circuit breaker and must be installed vertically. The unit activates with a minimum water flow of 0.5 GPM (1.93 L/min).

Usage Features:

  • Digital Display and Control: The unit features an LED display showing the actual temperature and control keys for power ON/OFF and temperature adjustment.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Users can set the desired outlet water temperature between 86-131°F (30-55°C) using UP and DOWN arrows.
  • Fahrenheit/Celsius Switch: The default setting is Fahrenheit. To switch to Celsius, users must shut off water flow to enter standby state, then touch and hold the "power" button for about 5 seconds.
  • Safety Features:
    • The thermostat is factory-set at 104°F to comply with safety regulations.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically remove scales and dirt from the faucet aerator or shower head.
  • Inlet Filter Cleaning: The built-in filter at the inlet connection should be cleaned from time to time. This requires cutting off the water supply and can be done by reversing inlet and outlet pipe connections, then opening the faucet to flush the filter.
  • Descaler Device: If installed in a hard water area, a descaler device is recommended on the inlet pipe to prevent scale build-up and ensure a long lifespan. The filter for this device should be changed annually or as per the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Winterization: If the unit is not used in winter, drain out the water completely to prevent freezing.
  • Air Purging: After any maintenance that introduces air into the plumbing pipes, it is crucial to purge all air out by running water through the heater for 2-3 minutes before turning on the power. Failure to do so can cause serious damage to the heating elements.
  • Cleaning: Use only a damp cloth with mild detergent; do not use thinner, alcohol, petrol, or other organic solutions.
  • Troubleshooting: A diagnostic chart is provided for common malfunction codes (E1, E2, E3, E4, F0) with suggested solutions, including increasing water flow, adjusting temperature, or contacting customer service.
