To use the device, first, insert a Micro SD card. It is crucial to use a branded Micro SD card and format it on a computer before use, as neutral cards may not work reliably.
Installing and removing batteries involves pressing the battery cap to open it. The battery should be correctly installed into the camera, aligning with the +/- symbols and direction of arrows marked on the battery. A battery gauge is provided for monitoring power levels. To remove the battery, simply open the cap and take it out.
Charging the device can be done by connecting it to a computer or a power adapter. It can also be charged in a vehicle using a car charger. A notable feature is its ability to record video while charging, especially when switched to "Vehicle-mounted Mode" in the menu. Charging can occur even when the device is powered off.
To switch the camera on and off, press and hold the power switch for 3 to 5 seconds. The display screen will turn on or off accordingly.
Mode switching is achieved by pressing the "Power On-Off" button, allowing users to toggle between video recording, photo shooting, playback, and menu settings. The display shows specific icons for each mode: a camera icon for recording mode, a photo icon for photo shooting mode, and a playback icon for video playback. The last icon represents system settings.
For video recording, switch to recording mode, and a camera icon will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. Press "OK" to start recording; the icon will flash. To stop recording, press "OK" again, and the icon will disappear.
For photo shooting, switch the camera on and press "Mode" to select "Photo shooting Mode." A photo icon will appear in the upper left corner of the display screen. Press "OK" to take photos. The device offers various shooting patterns, including single shot, self-timer (2s/5s/10s), and continuous shooting.
After recording, files can be stored and played back by connecting the device to a computer via a USB cable to export videos, or by removing the Micro SD card and using a card reader to access image data.
The device also supports WI-FI connection, allowing it to connect with Android or iOS mobile phones or tablet computers. To establish a connection, users need to install the "youmera" software on their mobile device, available on Google Play for Android or the APP Store for iOS. After powering on, press the WIFI key on the camera; the WIFI icon will display on the screen, indicating "SJ5000plus WiFi." Users then enable WIFI on their mobile device, search for the "SJ5000plusWIFI" account, and connect using the initial password "12345678," which will be displayed on the SJ5000plus screen. Once connected, "WIFI Connection Ready" will appear. Through the "youmera" software, images recorded by the camera can be displayed in real-time on the mobile device, and users can operate the camera or set function parameters via the software's icons. The WI-FI password can also be changed by powering on the device and entering the WIFI setting menu.
The device comes with a range of accessories, including a waterproof case, bicycle stand, various bases (base 1, base 2, fixed base), clips, switch supports (1, 2, 3), an adapter, helmet base, bandage, ribbon, 3M adhesive tape, wire rope, data wire, charger, manual, and a wiper. Optional accessories include a car bracket, HDMI outlet line, waist bandage, and car charger, enhancing its versatility and adaptability to different user needs and environments.
