Usage Features
Installation/Assembly:
The unit arrives fully assembled, but some minor setup is required. The armrests need to be inserted into their designated holes and pushed until seated. The metal towel holder attaches to the back of the backrest by removing a single screw, sliding the holder into the bracket, and reattaching the screw. The backrest and footrest rods are connected to their respective brackets by removing and replacing screws.
Leveling the Base:
The chair features four leveling feet, one at each corner of the base, to ensure stability on uneven floors. If the chair rocks, the leveling feet can be spun to raise or lower them, adjusting the height until the chair is stable.
Adjusting the Backrest and Foot Rest:
Adjustments to the backrest and footrest should always be done with a hand on the respective section to prevent abrupt movements.
- Backrest: To lower an upright backrest, lift the bracket and bring the backrest to the desired angle, then release the bracket. To raise a lowered backrest, pull the backrest itself up to the desired angle, and the bracket will lock it in place.
- Foot Rest: To raise a lowered footrest, pull on the footrest until it reaches the desired angle, and the bracket will hold it. To lower an elevated footrest, lift it slightly to disengage the bracket, pull the bracket towards you, and then lower the footrest to the desired angle before releasing the bracket to lock it.
Adjusting the Chair Height:
The chair's height is adjusted using a foot pump.
- To raise: Pump the foot pedal down multiple times rapidly until the desired height is reached.
- To lower: Push the pedal all the way down and hold it until the chair reaches the desired lower height or its lowest point.
Courtesy Stopper:
The unit includes a "courtesy stopper" to prevent the chair from spinning too quickly or accidentally. To engage it, lift the foot pedal up towards the ceiling until it stops. This makes rotation harder but does not fully lock it.
Getting On and Off:
For client safety and ease, the backrest should be up and the footrest down when a client gets on or off. The courtesy stopper should be engaged. It is also recommended to remove one of the armrests to facilitate easier access to the seat cushion. The operator should keep a hand on the backrest when the client is getting on or off.
Safe Use:
- Once a client is on, keep the courtesy stopper engaged unless rotation is needed.
- For maximum stability, the top portion of the chair should be kept in line with the base.
- If rotation is necessary with a client on, bring the backrest up and the footrest down, and rotate slowly using both hands on the head portion of the backrest.
- Important: Do not rotate the bed from the middle seat section, as this can cause the chair to rotate too quickly.
- If rotating the chair in a flat position, hold the headrest from underneath until the top portion is aligned with the base.
- Hydraulic chairs are not designed for massage.
