What to do if Skookum SK720 piro bounces?
    • J
      jessica77Sep 23, 2025
If piro starts/stops in one direction are good, but the other direction bounces, set the start/stop acceleration values for the tail to be lower for the direction that bounces.

What to do if my Skookum SK720 helicopter yaws wildly in one direction?
    • K
      Kendra RogersAug 25, 2025
Check that the sense direction for the rudder (yaw) is correct and that the tail servo moves in the right direction.

What to do if my Skookum Toy helicopter drifts slowly in elevator or aileron soon after take off?
    • R
      Robert EvansAug 26, 2025
This could be due to radio receiver centering drift. Many receivers' center points drift with temperature. Use transmitter trims to correct.
  • E
    Eric TaylorAug 27, 2025
Why does my Skookum SK720 helicopter tend to oscillate rapidly?
    • J
      Joseph CoxAug 27, 2025
Rapid oscillation, tested by sharp elevator or aileron commands, indicates that the damping gain is too high.

What to do if Skookum SK720 Toy helicopter wanders during piros?
    • R
      rsmithSep 23, 2025
During piros with collective pitch changes, or piros during forward flight, if the helicopter wanders, the servos may not be fast enough, or the heli needs to be better tuned for 3D.

    Marvin VasquezSep 13, 2025
Why does my Skookum SK720 Toy helicopter drift after several minutes of flight?
    • K
      Katie HernandezSep 13, 2025
If the helicopter drifts slowly in elevator or aileron with cyclic stick centered after several minutes of flight, it could be due to gyro temperature changing too quickly, or receiver drift. Ensure the gyro and receiver aren’t mounted near heat sources, and let it acclimatize to field temperature.

How to fix Skookum SK720 not perfectly locked in hover?
    • L
      Lisa Price DVMSep 12, 2025
If the helicopter is not perfectly locked in hover, try a higher control dead-band.
  • L
    Laura HenrySep 12, 2025
Why does my Skookum SK720 Toy helicopter precess in hover?
    • C
      connorparkerSep 12, 2025
If the helicopter precesses in hover (a motion like a child’s spinning top as it slows down), especially worsening with higher Hiller gains, it indicates interaction between the Elevator, Aileron, and Yaw axes. Check that the SK720 gyro is mounted correctly and also check rotor head phasing.

    Cynthia HensleySep 4, 2025
Why does my Skookum SK720 helicopter hesitate in elevator and aileron?
    • R
      Rachael WallaceSep 4, 2025
If your helicopter hesitates in elevator and aileron, and continues to move for a bit when the stick is released, the Bell gain is too low relative to Control Rates. Increase Bell gain slightly, or decrease Control Rates.
  • K
    kristy43Sep 2, 2025
What to do if Skookum Toy responds too sharply to aileron or elevator?
    • K
      Kelly NicholsSep 2, 2025
If the helicopter responds too sharply to aileron or elevator, the Bell gain is too high.
