- Professional Use: Products are intended for use by trained professionals or persons under direct visual surveillance of competent and responsible individuals.
- Medical Restrictions: Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or those with previous neck/back injuries should not use this equipment. Users must have full use of their arms, legs, and hands.
- Environmental Hazards: Avoid heat, chemicals, corrosive environments, electrical fields, wires, gases, and sharp edges.
- Sharp Edges: Prevent contact with or abrasion against unprotected sharp edges.
- Compatibility: Only use Skyline-approved components and connectors. Connectors must have a minimum break strength of 2200 kg (4850 lb), be shaped for 45mm and 25mm webbing, have a self-locking gate mechanism, and be CE, ANSI, or CSA certified.

Usage Features
Donning and Fitting Procedures:
The manual provides step-by-step instructions for donning and fitting each harness type:
1. Skyline 2-Point Harness:
- Detach front quick-connect buckles and loosen shoulder straps using red pull-tabs.
- Slip legs into leg loops and put on shoulder straps.
- Connect front quick-release buckles (matching colors) and adjust belts by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Crucial: The yellow waist belt must be tight enough to prevent sliding over hip bones. If not, do not use.
- Adjust shoulder straps by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Harness adjustment and attachment must be verified by trained personnel before each use.
2. Skyline 1-Point Harness:
- Loosen shoulder and side straps using red pull-tabs.
- Slip legs into leg loops and put on shoulder straps.
- Adjust shoulder straps by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Adjust side straps by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Secure loose ends of adjustment straps in hook-and-loop side pockets.
- Verification by trained personnel is required before each use.
3. Skyline Prone Harness:
- Loosen shoulder straps and detach quick-connect buckles.
- Standing up, with harness padding in front, slip legs into leg loops (red for left, yellow for right).
- Connect shoulder strap quick-release buckles (matching colors) and adjust straps by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Adjust leg straps tightly around thighs by pulling green pull-tabs away from buckles.
- Adjust foot stirrups adjustment straps by pulling green pull-tabs on 1-inch webbing. Equalize tension; feet must be firmly pressed against stirrups when legs are fully extended.
- Verification by trained personnel is required before each use.
- Flight angle and comfort can be trimmed by adjusting rear attachment straps once connected to the zip line trolley.
Installation of Slings and Lanyards:
- Slings: Thread the half-twist end through Skyline spreader bar holes, then thread the other end through the half-twist end and pull tight.
- Lanyards: Connect top quick link to Skyline trolley holes, and bottom quick link to Skyline spreader bar holes.
Training:
- Users must be trained and evaluated for competence in the correct use and care of the equipment. Training should be supervised by competent persons (as defined by OSHA).
Maintenance Features
1. Inspection:
- Frequency:
- Before each use.
- At least once a year by a competent person (other than the user). Results must be recorded in the inspection and maintenance log.
- New equipment must be inspected before being put into service.
- Rejection Criteria (Part A): Reject if:
- Used by a person exceeding maximum user weight.
- Received forces from a fall or shock loading without subsequent inspection.
- Undergone unauthorized modifications.
- Contacted detrimental chemicals or intense heat.
- Not inspected annually by a competent person.
- Exceeded shelf or service life limit.
- Labels or product identification are not visible/legible.
- Visual and Tactile Check (Part B): If Part A criteria are met, inspect for:
- Textile Parts: Cuts, wear, burns, discoloration, or other damage to webbing, rope, stitching (broken, pulled, worn threads), and fabric/mesh (cuts, tears).
- Metallic Parts: Deformation, marks, cracks, wear, corrosion, rust, or other damage to buckles, carabiners, etc.
- Labels/Accessories: Condition of labels.
- Residual Strength Verification: Only Skyline can perform destructive testing to verify residual strength.
2. Cleaning:
- Clean dirty harnesses, slings, or lanyards by hand in cold water with small amounts of mild soap only.
- Rinse thoroughly and air-dry in a cool, ventilated, dark room.
- Do not use bleach or bleach substitutes. Do not dry in a dryer.
- Excessive dirt/dust buildup can prevent proper function and degrade the product.
3. Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry, clean environment, out of direct sunlight.
- Avoid areas with chemical vapors.
- Ensure the product is not compressed during storage.
- Thoroughly inspect after extended storage.
4. Servicing and Repairs:
- Additional maintenance and servicing procedures must be completed by Skyline.
- Do not attempt to disassemble products. Only Skyline may make repairs.
5. Lifetime:
- Shelf Life: 7 years after manufacturing date.
- Service Life: 5 years (begins with first use).
- Combined Life (Shelf and Service): 7 years.
- These limits are conditional on regular inspections revealing no anomalies. Exceptional circumstances may limit lifetime to a single use.
- If a product was not formally inspected annually, it must be removed from service unless Skyline states otherwise after a thorough inspection.
- The logbook must be updated with the date of first use. If this information is absent, the manufacturing date is considered the date of first use.
