Usage Features:
- Recommended Fluids:
- Fuel: 90# or above lead-free fuel is recommended to extend spark plug and engine life, and reduce emissions.
- Engine Oil: Good quality engine oil (SUMMER 15W40, WINTER 10W40) is recommended to reduce wear and extend engine life.
- Front Shock Fluid: SS8 or 46# hydraulic fluid.
- Brake Fluid: DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid (Mobil branded is better).
- Speedometer: Displays total distance, distance each time (TRIP), current speed, and time. It also has an adjusting button for settings.
- Daytime Running Light Controller: The LED daytime running light has a strong light mode (black wire) and a weak light/position light mode (brown white wire). It automatically switches to position light when the headlight is on.
- Fuel Injection System (EFI): This model uses an EFI system with an ECU, various sensors (throttle position, intake air temperature, cylinder head temperature, oxygen sensor, trigger sensor), and actuators (injector, fuel pump, ignition module). It operates in open-loop and closed-loop modes, with the oxygen sensor playing a vital role in closed-loop control for optimal air-fuel ratio. The system has self-troubleshooting and protective functions, recording fault codes and allowing the bike to run to a repair shop even with a system problem.
- CBS Combined Brake System: Improves braking performance and ensures driving safety. It consists of a CBS main brake pump, master cylinders, front and rear brake calipers, and brake hoses. The front and rear brake oil circuits are relatively independent, so a fault in one will not affect the other.
- Fuel Evaporation System: Designed to prevent fuel vapor from leaking into the atmosphere, reducing pollution. It includes a closed fuel tank, carbon canister, and dump valve. The dump valve prevents liquid fuel from flowing into the canister if the vehicle rolls or falls.
Maintenance Features:
- Breaking-in Period:
- For ST125-6, the breaking-in period is 1000km.
- Change machine oil at 300km and 1000km during this period.
- Max speed should not exceed 60km/h, and full throttle is not allowed.
- Regular Maintenance and Check (every 1000km or 6 months, whichever comes first):
- Engine Machine Oil: Change at 300km, 1000km, and then every 1000km (at least twice a year). Capacity: 850ml (during maintenance), 1000ml (total). Drain screw torque: 28 N.m. Oil level should be in the middle of the dipstick tick marks.
- Air Filter: Check and clean every 3000km. Clean the foam filter core with incombustible detergent, then immerse in engine oil and press out excess oil. Replace if broken or cracked.
- Clutch: Check and adjust every 5000km. Ensure 3mm free play at the clutch lever. Adjuster lock nut torque: 81-99 N.m.
- Spark Plug: Check, adjust, and change every 10000km. Clean carbon regularly. Adjust clearance to 0.6-0.7mm.
- Drive Chain: Check and adjust every 1000km. Maintain 10-15mm slack. Clean and lubricate every 5000km with diesel oil or kerosene, then machine oil or gear oil. Rear axle nut torque: 54-66 N.m.
- Tires: Check every 5000km. Replace if worn, cracked, bumpy, or used for more than 3 years. Maintain correct tire pressure (Single: 220kpa, Double: Front 230kpa, Rear 240kpa). Max loading pressure: 250kpa.
- Steering System: Check every 5000km, lubricate every 10000km. Ensure front fork is tightened and steering moves freely. Steering head nut torque: 81-99 N.m. Steering stem bolt torque: 22.5-27.5 N.m.
- Fasteners: Check and tighten every 5000km. Important bolts and nuts have specific torque values (e.g., front axle nut: 54-66 N.m, engine bolt: 32.5-37.5 N.m, front/rear disc brake bolt: 22.5-27.5 N.m).
- Electrical System Maintenance:
- Plug-in Units: Pinch connectors when opening, fix bosses in grooves when connecting. Check for tightness, corrosion, and cover damage.
- Protective Tube: Replace if broken after solving the problem. Do not use different load protective tubes or other items.
- Battery: Dismantle negative terminal first, install positive terminal first. Clean corrosive terminals with sandpaper and coat with Vaseline or grease. Ensure terminal protective cover is fully enveloped. Do not invert poles.
- Battery Leakage: Check with a multimeter. If reading exceeds 1mA, there is leakage.
- Battery Discharge: Check charging voltage at 5000r/min with headlight on. If voltage is outside 13.5V-15.0V, check magneto coil and rectifier.
- Coil Resistance: Measure resistance of primary and secondary coils (3.8 KΩ ±10%) and trigger coil (102-160 Ω).
- Spark Plug Ignition: Check for consistent spark.
- Start Relay: Check conduction with multimeter.
- Starting Motor: Inspect carbon brushes for wear, cracks, or smoothness. Replace if damaged.
- Headlight Controller: Check voltage and regulator lines.
- Fuel Level Gauge: Check float conduction and wiring.
- Fuel Supply System Maintenance:
- Fuel Pump: Ensure fuel tank is not run out during normal use. Electromagnetic fuel pump should emit a vibrating sound for 5 seconds when turned on.
- Fuel Tank Cap: Use a fully enclosed cap with "G III" words. Do not use other caps to prevent fuel gas from entering the atmosphere.
- Engine Repair: Detailed instructions for dismantling and assembling engine parts, including cylinder head, cylinder, left and right crankcase covers, and crankcase. Includes inspections for wear on piston pin mounting hole, valve rocker arm pin, valve spring length, valve rod outer diameter, camshaft cam height, and bearings.
- Front Shock Absorbers: Instructions for dismantling and reassembling, including oil draining and refilling (75ml of 558 or 46# hydraulic oil).
- Wheel Bearings: When installing, use a special tool to press bearings into the wheel hub. Add appropriate grease.
- Brake Disc Bolts: Apply thread glue and fasten at least twice. Torque value: 22.5-27.5 N.m.
- Sprocket Locking Plate: Ensure no gap between locking plate and bolt.
- Chain Adjustment: Refer to page 2-6 for chain adjustment.
