Overview

This document is the User's Manual for the Skywalker Trampolines Model STRC1400, a recreational trampoline with an enclosure system. The manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, safe use, care, and maintenance of the trampoline and its enclosure.

Function Description:

The Skywalker Trampolines Model STRC1400 is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational jumping experience for a single user. The trampoline features a jumping mat, a steel frame, springs, and a surrounding enclosure net to prevent users from falling off. The enclosure system is integrated to enhance safety by containing the jumper within the designated area.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: STRC1400
  • Maximum User Weight: 200 lbs (90.7 kg)
  • Overhead Clearance Requirement: Minimum 24 feet (7.3 meters) of clear space above the ground.
  • Frame Material: Galvanized steel (not grounded, conducts electricity).
  • Springs: 84 springs (80 long springs and 4 short springs).
  • Mat: Jumping mat with V-rings for spring attachment.
  • Enclosure Netting: Designed to be used only with the specified size of trampoline.
  • Recommended User Age: Not recommended for children under 6 years of age if the trampoline is over 20 inches (51 cm) tall.
  • Assembly: Requires two adults, a Phillips screwdriver (included with trampoline), two adjustable wrenches, and optionally a rubber mallet.

Usage Features:

  • Single User Policy: Only one person is allowed inside the trampoline enclosure at a time to prevent collisions and injuries.
  • Supervision: The trampoline and enclosure must be used under mature, knowledgeable adult supervision at all times.
  • Safe Mounting and Dismounting: Users are instructed to climb onto and off the trampoline carefully, placing hands on the frame and avoiding jumping on or off. The frame pad should not be stepped on or grasped for support. An optional ladder can be used for access.
  • Controlled Bouncing: Emphasizes learning fundamental bounces and body positions, with a focus on control rather than height. Users should learn to stop bouncing by flexing their knees upon landing.
  • No Somersaults/Flips: Explicitly prohibits attempting or allowing somersaults (flips) due to the high risk of serious head or neck injury, paralysis, or death.
  • Clearance: Requires adequate overhead and lateral clearance from walls, buildings, fences, sidewalks, other play areas, wires, tree limbs, and other hazards.
  • Environmental Conditions: Should only be used when the jumping mat is dry and in calm weather conditions (very little or no wind). Not to be used in gusty or severe winds.
  • No Objects on Trampoline: Users should not jump while holding any objects, especially sharp or breakable ones. The area around and under the trampoline must be clear of objects.
  • Clothing: Users should wear clothing free of drawstrings, hooks, loops, or anything that could get caught in the netting. Jewelry should be removed.
  • No Alcohol/Drugs: Prohibits use under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Enclosure Entry/Exit: Entry and exit are only permitted through the designated enclosure door, secured by a zipper clip attached to a D-ring on the jump mat and horizontal clips on the enclosure netting.
  • Lighting: Use in a well-lit area; artificial lighting may be needed indoors or in shady areas.
  • Skill Progression: Encourages learning basic skills thoroughly before attempting more advanced ones. Provides instructional programs and model lessons for fundamental bounces and positions (e.g., Fundamental Bounce, Knee Drop, Hand and Knee Drop, Back Drop, Seat Drop, Front Drop, Half Turntable, Swivel Hips).

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Use Inspection: The trampoline and enclosure must be inspected before each use. Any worn, defective, or missing parts (frame, padding, netting, enclosure tubes, foam sleeves, springs, mat) must be replaced immediately.
  • Frame Pad: The frame pad must be securely in place to cover the frame and springs, reducing the risk of injury from contact with the frame. The frame pad is not designed to support the user's weight.
  • Wind Protection: In anticipation of high winds, the enclosure netting should be taken down, and the trampoline frame should be tied down to the ground with ropes and stakes (not included). The most secure method is complete disassembly and indoor storage. Wind damage is not covered by the warranty.
  • Storage: During winter months or long periods of non-use, soft materials (springs, jump mat, spring pad, enclosure) should be removed and stored in a dry place to prevent damage and voiding of the warranty.
  • Cleaning: The trampoline mat should be kept clean and dry.
  • Moving the Trampoline: If the trampoline needs to be moved, it should be done by two persons, kept horizontal, and lifted slightly. For longer distances, disassembly is recommended.
  • Electrical Hazard: The metal frame is not grounded and conducts electricity. No lights, electric heaters, extension cords, or household electrical appliances are permitted on or in the trampoline or enclosure.
  • Warranty: The steel frame is warranted for one year, and all other parts for 90 days from the date of purchase. Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service conditions. It does not cover freight damage, abuse, misuse, improper usage, unauthorized repairs, commercial use, or wind/weather damage.
