TROUBLESHOOTING
Inflator does not turn on:
1. The fuse, located in the plug adapter, may have blown. Unscrew
the tip of the plug adapter, remove fuse and inspect. If necessary,
replace fuse with one of the same size and amperage.
2. Check vehicle's power outlet fuse; it should be a minimum of 15 amps.
3. Check receptacle and plug terminals for dirt (particularly tobacco). Use a non-conductive
probe (not fingers or metal) to dislodge and remove debris.
4. Push the power plug firmly into the receptacle and twist it back and forth.
Inflator runs but does not inflate:
1. Be sure the air hose connector is tightly screwed onto the valve stem.
2. Check tire for leaks. Check hose for breaks and leaks at fittings.
Inflator runs slowly:
1. The inflator may have overheated from excessive use. Shut it off and allow it to cool for 35
minutes.
2. The voltage may be too low. Check the condition of your vehicle's battery.
NOTE: If tire is totally deflated, it is possible that the tire could separate from the rim allowing
air to leak out when trying to inflate. In the event this occurs, it may be necessary to jack up the
tire prior to inflation.

CAUTION: HOT • DO NOT HOLD IN HAND WHILE OPERATING • PLACE INFLATOR ON A HARD, CLEAN SURFACE.
1. DO NOT run vehicle while inflator is operating. You may need to be in “accessory” or “on” position.
Please make sure emergency brake is set and car is in park. Always ensure air hose chuck touches the
core of the valve stem for proper inflation.
2. DO NOT use inflator continuously for more than 12 minutes. Allow unit to cool approximately 30
minutes between uses. Do not leave inflator unattended.
3. ALWAYS use a pressure gauge to check tire pressure. DO NOT overinflate.
4. Soft inflatables (i.e. rafts, balls, etc.) may not have recommended pressure markings. Be careful not to
inflate items beyond their capacity.
5. While operating, never block the inflator input or output.
6. Keep inflator out of reach of children.
7. For use with 12 volt DC power outlets rated 15 amps or higher. Do not use with older 8 amp cigarette
lighter receptacles.

Overview

The Slime Tire Inflator Jr. is a compact and portable device designed for inflating tires and other small inflatables. It features a robust construction with integrated storage for air adapters and a clear, easy-to-read dial gauge.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Slime Tire Inflator Jr. is to provide a convenient and efficient way to inflate tires and various other items that require air. It operates by drawing power from a vehicle's 12-volt accessory power outlet, converting it into pressurized air. The device is equipped with an ON/OFF switch for straightforward operation and a bright LED light for use in low-light conditions or during nighttime emergencies. The integrated dial gauge allows users to monitor the inflation pressure in real-time, ensuring that items are inflated to the correct specifications and preventing overinflation. The inflator comes with various adapters that snap into place for easy access, making it versatile for different types of valves and inflatables.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Dial Gauge: The inflator features a dial gauge with a range of 0-100 PSI (pounds per square inch) and 0-7 BAR (barometric pressure). This dual measurement system provides flexibility for users accustomed to either unit.
  • Power Source: It operates on a 12-volt DC power outlet, typically found in vehicles. It is specifically designed for use with outlets rated 15 amps or higher and should not be used with older 8 amp cigarette lighter receptacles.
  • LED Light: A bright LED light is integrated into the unit, serving as a practical feature for illuminating the work area during nighttime use or in dimly lit environments.
  • Continuous Use Limit: The device is designed for intermittent use. It should not be operated continuously for more than 12 minutes. A cooling period of approximately 30 minutes is recommended between uses to prevent overheating and ensure longevity.
  • Fuse: The power plug adapter contains a fuse to protect the unit from electrical surges. This fuse can be replaced if it blows, ensuring continued functionality.

Usage Features:

  • Easy Connection: To inflate a tire, the air hose connector is simply screwed onto the tire's valve stem. The power cord is then plugged into the vehicle's 12-volt accessory power outlet.
  • Simple Operation: Once connected, the user presses the ON/OFF switch to begin inflation. The integrated dial gauge allows for real-time monitoring of pressure.
  • Pressure Monitoring: Users are advised to always use a pressure gauge to check tire pressure and avoid overinflation. For tires, the correct pressure can typically be found in the vehicle owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb.
  • Adapter Storage: The inflator includes convenient snap-in storage for various air adapters, ensuring they are readily available when needed for different inflatables like rafts or balls.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • The inflator should always be placed on a hard, clean surface during operation and never held in hand while running, as it can become hot.
    • The vehicle should not be run while the inflator is operating; instead, it should be in "accessory" or "on" position with the emergency brake set and the car in park.
    • The air hose chuck must properly touch the core of the valve stem for effective inflation.
    • The inflator should not be left unattended during operation.
    • Care must be taken when inflating soft items without recommended pressure markings to avoid inflating them beyond their capacity.
    • The inflator's input or output should never be blocked during operation.
    • It should be kept out of reach of children.

Maintenance Features:

  • Fuse Replacement: If the inflator fails to turn on, the first troubleshooting step is to check the fuse located in the tip of the power plug adapter. The tip can be unscrewed, the fuse inspected, and replaced with one of the same size and amperage if necessary.
  • Cooling Period: To prevent overheating and ensure optimal performance, a mandatory 30-minute cooling period is recommended after 12 minutes of continuous use. If the inflator runs slowly, it may indicate overheating, requiring a cool-down period of 35 minutes.
  • Terminal Cleaning: If the inflator does not turn on, users are advised to check the vehicle's power outlet fuse (which should be a minimum of 15 amps) and inspect the receptacle and plug terminals for dirt, especially tobacco. A non-conductive probe (not fingers or metal) can be used to dislodge and remove debris.
  • Secure Connection: For proper operation, the power plug should be pushed firmly into the receptacle and twisted back and forth. If the inflator runs but does not inflate, ensure the air hose connector is tightly screwed onto the valve stem and check for leaks in the tire or breaks and leaks at the hose fittings.
  • Battery Check: If the inflator runs slowly, it could also indicate low voltage from the vehicle's battery, prompting a check of the battery's condition.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase, guaranteeing it will meet specifications when used as directed. Warranty claims are limited to a manufacturer's coupon for a replacement product upon return of the unit and proof of purchase.
