SR4 Diagnostic Mode Fault Codes
What is Diagnostic Mode?
Diagnostic Mode is an environment that runs a set of tests on the SmartRecorder 4 (SR4) in
order to identify any faults that may be occurring. Diagnostic Mode utilizes the SR4 Keypad and
Sensor Bar to specify those faults.
It takes approximately 4 minutes for the SR4 to run a self-diagnostic check and up to 12 minutes
to completely reboot the system. Please note that events will not be recorded while the system
is in Diagnostic Mode.
Diagnostic Mode should be ran after every installation or repair.
How to Initiate Diagnostic Mode?
With the Ignition ON and the vehicle safely parked press the Panic button on the Keypad
(large green button) 5 times within 10 seconds. This will initiate Diagnostic Mode. After 15
seconds, the Keypad will display “TEST which confirms Diagnostic Mode is in progress.
Diagnostic Mode will display any appropriate fault codes on the keypad, along with their
corresponding LED marker code on the Sensor Bar.
Fault codes appearing on the keypad are cumulative (i.e. Sensor Bar not found (020000) + No
GPS Signal (000100) = (020100).
How to Exit Diagnostic Mode?
To exit Diagnostic Mode, turn Ignition OFF and wait 15 seconds. The target icon
on the Sensor Bar should display solid green once the SmartRecorder is ready to record.
