What to do if my Smartech Battery Charger shows OVER-TEMP?
    • K
      Kim FreemanJul 28, 2025
If the Smartech Battery Charger displays 'OVER-TEMP', it means the overheat protection has been activated. The current reduces when the charger's internal temperature is too high. After the charger cools down for a few minutes, it will automatically resume charging at the 6/2A CHARGE/MAINTAIN rate if a battery is connected, the battery type has a memory function, and it's the same type as before.

If your Smartech Battery Charger displays 'NO-CONNECT', there are several potential reasons: * **Open-circuit:** Ensure the red and black clamps are properly connected to the battery posts. * **Dirty Battery Posts:** Clean the battery posts to ensure a good connection. * **Dead Battery:** If the battery voltage is below 1V, replace it immediately. * **Output short circuit:** Disconnect the red and black output terminals.
