What to do if my Smeg FD260PS Refrigerator is dripping water?
    • J
      Jaime HodgeAug 9, 2025
If water is dripping from your Smeg Refrigerator, it could be due to a blocked water discharge opening or water from thawed ice dripping past the water collection trough. Try cleaning the blocked opening, for example, by using a plastic straw. Also, if the layer of ice is too thick, defrost the appliance annually.

      cruzgregoryAug 19, 2025
Excessive ice build-up on the back wall of your Smeg Refrigerator may be caused by the door being opened too often or left open too long, warm food being placed in the refrigerator, food or a container touching the refrigerator's back wall, or a poor door seal (clean or replace if dirty or damaged).

Why is my Smeg FD260PS Refrigerator cooling system running constantly?
    • L
      leonardcookAug 25, 2025
Your Smeg Refrigerator's cooling system might be running continuously for a long period of time due to several reasons: the environment temperature may be too high, the door is opened too often or left open too long, the door is not closed appropriately (check for dirt or tilting; inspect the seal), too much fresh food was inserted, there is insufficient compressor and condenser cooling (check air circulation and clean the condenser), or the super freeze option is activated.

      Nathan WilcoxAug 29, 2025
Before replacing the bulb in your Smeg Refrigerator, disconnect the appliance from the power mains by unplugging it. Insert a screwdriver into the slot in the cover, lift and remove it. Replace the bulb with a new one (E14, same power rating as the original) and then replace the cover.

Why is it hard to open the door of my Smeg Refrigerator?
    • M
      Melissa ScottSep 3, 2025
If you experience strong resistance when trying to open the freezer door of your Smeg Refrigerator immediately or shortly after closing it, this is normal. When the door is opened, cool air escapes and is replaced by warm air, creating a sub-pressure as it cools. Wait a few minutes for the condition to normalize, and the door should open easily.
