Overview

This document provides a Quick Installation Guide for the Triple Power Lithium-ion Battery, including its Battery Management System (BMS) and battery modules. It covers packing lists, installation prerequisites, mounting instructions, cabling, and commissioning.

Function Description

The Triple Power Lithium-ion Battery system is designed to store and supply electrical energy, working in conjunction with an inverter. The system consists of a Battery Management System (BMS) and multiple battery modules, which can be stacked to increase capacity. The BMS acts as the central control unit, managing the charging and discharging processes, monitoring battery health, and communicating with the inverter. The battery modules are the individual energy storage units. The system supports various configurations, from a single battery module up to four modules, to meet different energy storage requirements.

Usage Features

Installation Flexibility:

The system supports various configurations:

  • Single Battery Module: BMS connects directly to one battery module.
  • Two Battery Modules: BMS connects to two stacked battery modules.
  • Three Battery Modules: BMS connects to three stacked battery modules.
  • Four Battery Modules: BMS connects to four stacked battery modules.

Mounting Options:

  • Floor/Wall Mounting: The battery modules can be mounted on the floor or a wall. The wall must be strong enough to support the battery's weight. Installation involves marking holes, drilling, and tightening expansion screw sleeves.
  • Base Mounting: For configurations with multiple modules, a base mounting accessory is used to provide stability. The BMS is then placed on top of the uppermost battery module and secured.

Modular Design:

Battery modules are designed to be stacked on top of each other. For two battery modules, the second module is placed on top of the first and secured with M4 screws. The battery module and wall bracket are then fixed with expansion bolts.

Cabling System:

The installation guide provides detailed instructions for connecting various cables:

  • BMS to Inverter: Includes connecting BAT+ (A:2m), BAT- (B:2m), and CAN (D:2m) cables. The process involves stripping cables, inserting them into connectors, pressing spring clamps, and tightening screw connections to a specified torque (2.0±0.2Nm).
  • BMS to Battery Modules: Specific cable lengths and types are provided for different configurations (e.g., B+ to B+ (C:1200mm), B- to B- (A1:690mm), COMM to COMM1 (E:200mm)).
  • Inter-Module Connections: For multiple battery modules, cables connect between modules (e.g., Slave1 to Slave2, Slave2 to Slave3, etc.) for both power and communication. Corrugated pipes are used to protect cables, especially for longer runs.
  • Grounding: The BMS and all battery modules must be properly grounded for safety.

Commissioning Process:

After installation, the system can be commissioned by following these steps:

  1. Verify Model Numbers: Ensure all battery modules are of the same model.
  2. Open BMS Cover: Access the internal components of the BMS.
  3. Circuit Breaker Switch: Move the circuit breaker switch to the "ON" position.
  4. Power Button: Press the POWER button to turn on the T-BAT system.
  5. Inverter AC Switch: Turn on the AC switch of the inverter.

Maintenance Features

Environmental Protection:

The IP65 rating provides protection against dust and water ingress, reducing the need for frequent cleaning or protection from environmental elements. However, outdoor installations require avoiding direct sunlight and moisture to prevent performance degradation and extend lifetime.

Self-Protection Mechanism:

The battery pack includes a self-protection mechanism. If the ambient temperature exceeds the operating range (0°C to 45°C for charging/discharging, -10°C to 50°C optimal), the battery pack will stop operating to protect itself from damage. This feature helps prevent premature wear and tear due to extreme conditions.

Modular Replacement:

The modular design of the battery system suggests that individual battery modules could potentially be replaced if one unit fails, rather than replacing the entire system. This could simplify maintenance and reduce costs.

Cable Management:

The use of corrugated pipes for cable protection, especially for longer runs and between modules, helps to prevent physical damage to cables, ensuring reliable operation and reducing the need for cable repairs. Guard rings are also used to protect the ends of corrugated pipes.

User Manual Reference:

The Quick Installation Guide emphasizes that for any detailed questions or more in-depth information, users should refer to the comprehensive User Manual enclosed with the BMS. This indicates that detailed troubleshooting and maintenance procedures are available in the full manual.
