Function Description

The Sollevare Professional Wine Coolers are designed to store wine and beverages at optimal temperatures, ensuring their quality and longevity. These units are available in both single-zone and dual-zone configurations, catering to different storage needs. The dual-zone models allow for the simultaneous storage of various wine types (e.g., red, white, sparkling) at their respective ideal temperatures. The coolers utilize a compressor-based refrigeration system to maintain stable internal climates.

Important Technical Specifications

Power Supply: The appliances require a standard 115V/60Hz electrical ground outlet with a three-prong plug. A dedicated circuit is recommended. Fuse/Circuit Breaker Size: The fuse or circuit breaker size should be 13 amperes. Ambient Temperature Range: For optimal performance, the wine cooler should be installed in an area where the ambient temperature is between 19°C-24°C (66°F-75°F) and humidity is under 60%. Temperature Setting Ranges:

  • BIWC-120-2D (Each Compartment)/BIWC-100A,C/BIWC-150A,C/BIWC-408A (Single Zone): 2-10°C (35-50°F) / 5-18°C (41-65°F).
  • BIWC-100B,D/BIWC-150B,D/BIWC-408B,D (Dual Zone): Upper zone: 5-13°C (40-55°F); Lower zone: 13-18°C (55-65°F).
  • Recommended Wine Conservation Temperatures:
    • Wine conservation: 12°C-14°C (53°F-57°F)
    • Rose and sparkling wines: 5°C-8°C (41°F-46°F)
    • Dry/white wines: 9°C-12°C (48°F-53°F)
    • Red wines: 14°C-18°C (59°F-65°F)
    • Note: Temperature °C may vary between ± 2 °C. Refrigerant: Flammable refrigerant is used, requiring careful handling and servicing by trained personnel. Noise Level (Dual-Zone Models): The dual-zone temperature control system utilizes a 42-45 dB rated premium grade closed isobutane compressor unit.

Usage Features

Control Panel: The units feature an intuitive control panel for adjusting settings.

  • Temperature Adjustment: Buttons allow for temperature adjustments in 1-degree increments or decrements.
  • Temperature Display Toggle: A button allows switching the temperature display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
  • Interior Lights: A dedicated button controls the blue interior lights.
  • Power On/Off: A button allows turning the appliance on or off by pressing and holding for 3 seconds.
  • Dual-Zone Specific Controls (for BIWC-100B,D/BIWC-150B,D/BIWC-408B,D): Separate controls are provided to adjust temperatures for the upper and lower zones independently. A "zone select" button allows users to choose which zone's temperature to adjust. Shelving: The coolers are equipped with wooden shelves. Some models (except BIWC-120-2D and BIWC-60A) feature telescopic runner assemblies for smooth shelf movement, maximizing usage efficiency. Shelves can be pulled out approximately 1/3 of the way for easy bottle access. To remove shelves, specific instructions involving pressing and lifting plastic notches are provided. Door Lock: Each unit comes with a lock and key for securing the contents. Memory Function: Dual-zone models feature smart thermostats with a memory retaining function. In case of power failure or accidental unplugging, the system automatically reverts to the most recent temperature settings. Installation: The wine coolers are designed for both free-standing and built-in installations. Adjustable leveling legs are provided at the bottom of the unit to ensure proper leveling. Handle Installation: A stainless-steel handle is included and requires user installation on the left side of the door by pulling away the door gasket, aligning the handle with screws, tightening them, and replacing the gasket.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • Interior: Clean interior surfaces with warm water and a baking soda solution (2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 cup of water).
  • Shelves: Wash shelves with a mild detergent solution.
  • Exterior: Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and a mild liquid detergent, then rinse and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using steel wool or steel brushes on stainless steel to prevent scratching and rusting. Charcoal Filtration System: To maintain air purity and cooling efficiency, the cellar is equipped with an active charcoal filtration system. This filter, located at the rear panel inside the cellar, should be changed every 12 months. Instructions for changing the filter involve removing bottles and shelves, turning the filter 45 degrees counter-clockwise, pulling it out, replacing it with a new one, and turning it 45 degrees clockwise to secure. Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to address common issues such as the chiller not operating, not being cold enough, compressor cycling frequently, fans operating frequently, lights not working, vibrations, excessive noise, and door not closing properly. It also lists error codes (E1-E2-E3-E4-E7-E8) indicating a sensor failure, requiring a service call. Moving the Appliance: Instructions are provided for safely moving the wine cooler, including removing all items, taping down loose items and the door, raising adjustable legs, and ensuring the unit remains upright during transport. If horizontal transport is necessary, it should be on its back (door on top) and protected with a blanket. Energy Saving Tips: To optimize energy consumption, it is recommended to place the wine cooler in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing appliances and direct sunlight.
