Notify personnel of maintenance. Ensure control panel is in 'Test Mode' or precautions are taken to prevent alarms.
Unscrew red cup, remove aerosol cap, and place cap inside the red cup before proceeding.
Re-insert red cup, rotate clockwise for aerosol release, then slightly unscrew to stop release.
Mount dispenser onto access pole, raise, and position detector into the clear cup for smoke burst application.
Repeat testing every 10s until activation. Remove cup on alarm for particle dispersal.
Insert charged battery baton into unit and access pole, ensuring secure locking. Do not use battery as a pole.
Use the red lever to adjust the angle of the tester head and release to lock it into position.
Press red button to power on. Raise unit, position detector in cup, align duct with thermistor. Green LED flashes faster.
Hold unit until detector activates. Unit enters standby. Internal blower cools heating element.
Avoid placing hands in the cup or touching the metal grid. Do not obstruct air vents during operation.
Attach the power cable securely to the tester unit, ensuring the clip is fastened.
Insert the Solo 423/424 tester into a compatible Solo access pole for elevated testing.
Connect the power cable to mains power and press the green button on the test head to activate.
Hold the unit in place over the detector until the detector signals activation.
Use appropriate protective gear when working overhead. Clear the area below to prevent injury.
Lift and rotate each detector grip to adjust it to the required size for secure fitting.
Insert tool into access pole. Lock lower button for pivot, or top button for fixed, non-pivoting use.
Center detector in grips, twist anti-clockwise to release, and carefully lower the detector.
Align detector correctly into base, twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.
