Become familiar with controls and operation.
Place spreader on left side as viewed from operator's position.
Stand spreader upright at waist level on a table or stand.
Observe small oil hole in gearcase with spreader on its right side.
Brass stop nut limits hopper opening for consistent material delivery.
Observe drop chute opening variation when adjusting flow rate lever.
Control adjusts material deposition point and spread width.
Increases or decreases the width of spread.
Cranking speed affects volume and coverage.
