Overview

This document serves as a user manual for the Sôlt 60cm Freestanding Dishwasher, models GGSDW6012S and GGSDW6012W. It provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the appliance.

Function Description

The Sôlt dishwasher is designed for household use, automatically cleaning various types of crockery, cutlery, and cookware. It operates by spraying water and detergent onto items, followed by rinsing and drying cycles. The appliance offers multiple wash programs tailored to different levels of soiling and item types, including intensive, heavy, eco, glass, 90-minute, and rapid washes. These programs vary in temperature, duration, and water consumption to provide efficient cleaning while conserving resources. The dishwasher also features a rinse aid dispenser to prevent water spots and streaks, and a detergent dispenser for both main and pre-wash cycles.

Usage Features

The dishwasher's control panel is intuitive, featuring buttons for power, extra dry, delay start, child lock, program selection, and start/pause. Program indicators illuminate to show the selected wash cycle, while warning indicators alert the user to conditions such as active child lock, low rinse aid, or program completion.

Loading: The dishwasher is equipped with an upper basket, a lower basket, and a cutlery basket, all designed for efficient loading. The upper basket is ideal for delicate and lighter items like glasses, cups, and small bowls, and its height can be adjusted to accommodate taller dishes. The lower basket is suitable for larger and heavily soiled items such as pots, pans, and dinner plates. Its rack spikes can be folded down to make room for bulky items. The cutlery basket ensures individual placement of cutlery, preventing nesting and ensuring thorough cleaning. Users are advised to scrape off large food remnants before loading and to place items facing downwards or aslant to allow water to drain effectively. Sharp items, especially knives, should be loaded with points facing down or horizontally in the upper basket for safety.

Programs:

  • Intensive: Best for heavily soiled items like pots, pans, and casserole dishes with dried food.
  • Heavy: Suitable for heavily soiled loads including pots, plates, glasses, and lightly soiled pans.
  • ECO: A daily cycle for normally soiled loads such as pots, plates, glasses, and pans, designed for energy efficiency.
  • Glass: For lightly soiled crockery and glass.
  • 90 Minutes: For lightly soiled plates and pans requiring a quick wash.
  • Rapid: A shorter wash for lightly soiled loads that do not require drying.

Special Functions:

  • Extra Dry: Adds an extra drying cycle to the selected program, available for Intensive, Heavy, ECO, Glass, and 90-minute programs.
  • Delay Start: Allows users to set a delay for the wash cycle to begin after 3, 6, or 9 hours.
  • Child Lock: Locks the control panel buttons to prevent accidental changes during operation.

Operation: To start a wash cycle, users load the dishes, add detergent, ensure the water supply is on, close the door, power on the machine, select a program, and press start/pause. Dishes can be added mid-cycle if the detergent dispenser has not yet opened. The dishwasher can be paused and a new program selected if the current cycle has been running for a short time.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the dishwasher's performance and longevity.

Cleaning the Filters: The filtering system, located at the base of the wash cabinet, collects coarse debris. Filters should be checked and cleaned regularly to prevent clogging. This involves rotating and lifting out the coarse filter, detaching the fine filter, and rinsing all components under running water. A soft cleaning brush can be used for thorough cleaning. It is important to reassemble the filters securely and in the correct sequence to avoid blockages and maintain performance.

Cleaning the Spray Arms: Hard water chemicals can clog the spray arm jets and bearings. To clean, the upper spray arm is removed by rotating its nut clockwise, and the lower spray arm is pulled upwards. Both arms should be washed in soapy, warm water, and the jets cleaned with a soft brush before reattaching.

External Care: The door and door seals should be cleaned regularly with a soft damp cloth to remove food deposits. The control panel should also be wiped with a soft damp cloth. Abrasive cleaners or spray cleaners should not be used on the control panel or outer surfaces to prevent damage.

Frost Precaution (Winter): During winter, specific measures are recommended to protect the dishwasher from frost. This includes cutting off electrical power, turning off and disconnecting the water supply, draining water from the inlet pipe and valve, and soaking up any remaining water in the sump with a sponge.

After Every Wash: After each wash, the water supply should be turned off, and the door left slightly ajar to allow moisture and odors to escape, preventing their accumulation.

Long-Term Storage: If the dishwasher will not be used for a long time, it is recommended to run an empty wash cycle, remove the plug, turn off the water supply, and leave the door slightly open. This helps preserve door seals and prevents odors.

Moving the Appliance: When moving the dishwasher, it should ideally be kept in a vertical position. If necessary, it can be positioned on its back.

Seals: Periodic cleaning of the door seals with a damp sponge helps prevent food residue from accumulating and causing odors.

Troubleshooting: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to address common issues such as the dishwasher not starting, water not pumping, suds in the tub, stained interiors, white film on dishes, rust stains on cutlery, and various noises. It also provides solutions for dishes not being clean or dry, and error codes displayed by the appliance. For persistent issues, users are advised to contact customer support.
