AEL toggle
When it is hard to obtain an appropriate exposure for a subject, this function allows you to lock the
exposure by focusing on and measuring the light of an area that has the desired brightness.
1. MENU
3 [Func. of C Button] [AEL toggle]
2. Aim the camera at an area to which you want to match the exposure.
The exposure is set.
3. Press the C (Custom) button.
The exposure is locked, and
(AE lock) lights up.
4. Focus on your subject and shoot it.
5. To cancel the exposure lock, press the C (Custom) button again.
AF/MF Control Toggle
You can switch auto focus and manual focus temporarily.
1. MENU
3 [Func. of C Button] [AF/MF Control Toggle]
2. Press the C (Custom) button to switch auto focus and manual focus.
When [Focus Mode] is set to [Manual Focus], the camera switches to [Autofocus], and when [Focus
Mode] is set to other than [Manual Focus], it switches to [Manual Focus]. Press the C (Custom)
button to return to the previous mode.
Locking the exposure in spot metering mode
The camera temporarily locks the exposure in spot metering mode.

3 [Func. of C Button] [ AEL hold] or [ AEL toggle]
2. Press the C (Custom) button.
Focus Magnifier
In [Manual Focus] mode, you can enlarge the image on the screen to make manual-focusing easier by
using [Focus Magnifier].
1. MENU
3 [Func. of C Button] [Focus Magnifier]
2. Press the C (Custom) button to enlarge the image.
You can set the length of time the image will be enlarged using [Focus Magnif. Time].
Smart Telecon./Zoom
1. MENU 3 [Func. of C Button] [Smart Telecon./Zoom]
2. MENU
3 [Smart Telecon./Zoom] desired mode
3. Press the C (Custom) button.
Deactivate the LCD
When the monitor is too bright when using a viewfinder (sold separately), you can turn off the screen
display temporarily.
1. MENU
3 [Func. of C Button] [Deactivate the LCD]
2. Press the C (Custom) button.
The screen display is turned on/off each time you press the C (Custom) button.
Notes
In [Sweep Panorama] or movie mode, the screen display is not turned off.
