To pair, go to [MENU] → [BLUETOOTH] → [PAIRING] → [DEVICE 1]/[DEVICE 2]. The unit will enter pairing standby mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon. Perform pairing on your Bluetooth device and select the unit's model name. If a passkey is required, input [0000].

Maintenance Features

Firmware Updates: To update the firmware, visit the support site (URL provided on the back cover) and follow the online instructions. Ensure the USB device is not removed during the update.

Battery Replacement (Remote Commander): The remote commander uses a lithium battery (CR2025). When the battery becomes weak, the range of the remote commander decreases. To replace, remove the insulation film before use. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. Do not expose the battery to excessive heat.

Fuse Replacement: If the fuse blows, check the power connection and replace it with one matching the original amperage rating (15 A). If it blows again, there may be an internal malfunction, and you should consult a Sony dealer.

Installation Considerations:

  • Safety: Install the unit in the dashboard. The left side of the unit can become hot during use. Run all ground (earth) leads to a common ground point. Insulate loose unconnected leads with electrical tape. Avoid installing in dusty, dirty, vibrating, or high-temperature areas.
  • Power Supply: Connect yellow and red power supply leads only after all other leads are connected. If the car's fuse rating is 10 A, connect the power directly to the battery to avoid short circuits.
  • Microphone Installation: Route the microphone input cord carefully to avoid interference with driving operations. Secure it with a clamp. If airbags or other shock-absorbing equipment are present, consult the store or car dealer before installation. When mounting on the dashboard, remove the visor clip, attach the flat-mount base, and clean the surface before attaching the double-sided tape.
  • Speaker Connection: Turn off the unit before connecting speakers. Use speakers with 2 Ω or 4 Ω to 8 Ω impedance and adequate power handling capacities.
  • Memory Hold Connection: The yellow power supply lead ensures power is always supplied to the memory circuit, even when the ignition switch is off.
  • Mounting Angle: Adjust the mounting angle to less than 30°.

Important Notices:

  • FCC/ISED Compliance: The device complies with part 15 of FCC Rules and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada's licence-exempt RSS(s). It must accept any interference received and not cause harmful interference.
  • Bluetooth Communication: Microwaves from Bluetooth devices may affect electronic medical devices. Turn off the unit in locations with inflammable gas, hospitals, trains, airplanes, petrol stations, near automatic doors, or fire alarms. While the unit supports Bluetooth security capabilities, security may not be enough depending on the setting. Sony is not responsible for information leakage during Bluetooth communication.
  • Emergency Calls: Do not rely solely on electronic devices for essential communications like medical emergencies, as connection cannot be guaranteed under all conditions.
  • Customer Responsibility: Check your vehicle manual or contact the manufacturer before installing this product.
  • Disclaimer: Sony is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or use of the product. Services offered by third parties may change or terminate without notice, and Sony bears no responsibility in such situations.
