3-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
PRECAUTION
Torque Measurement
I. Clean the fo ll ow ing parts with a den at ur eu-
alcohol-moistened swab :

2. De magn etize th e record / playhack head with a
head demagnelizer. ( Do n ot bring the head
demagnetizer close to the e ra se head.)
3. Do n ot use a magnetized scr ewdrive r fo r the
adjustments.
4. After the adjustments , app ly s uitabl e locking
co mp o und to th e part s adjusted.
5. The adjustments should be performed with the
rated power s upply vo l tage unless otherwise
noted.
Pinch Roller Pressure Adjustment

I. Turn the t hru st sc r ew co unterclo c kwise until
the screw tip leaves from the flywheel shaft.
2.
Gradually turn th e thru st screw clockwise to
the position where the motor c urrent suddenly
in creases.
3. Then, turn the thru st sc r ew co unterclockwise
about ¼ turn from the position obtained in
step 2.
