      If your Southworth Lifting System fails to hold, the down valve might be leaking. Remove the down valve and inspect it for any debris that may be preventing it from closing properly. Another possibility is that the down valve may be energized; in this case, check the solenoid in the valve using a voltmeter. Also, the cylinder may be leaking; check the vent line for oil in the cylinder.

    Why Southworth Lifting Systems lift will not raise?

      If your Southworth Lifting System won't raise, it could be due to several reasons. First, verify that the load isn't too heavy. If the motor isn't running, check the main disconnect switch, fuses, and wiring to the motor, ensuring a 20 amp breaker is supplied for 110V. Also, check the hydraulic oil level; when the lift is fully raised, it should be 3/4” from the bottom of the tank, and when down, 3/4” from the top. If the motor hums without turning, inspect the motor wiring and line fuses. Confirm the supply voltage is within +/- 10% of the motor's rating at its terminals. Ensure the tank vent isn't plugged by removing any solid plug and inserting a vent plug if supplied. Furthermore, the suction filter might be clogged, so clean it as described in periodic maintenance. Check all fittings ...
