What to do if my Sp Air Construction doesn't switch off and the safety valve is discharging?
    • L
      laurie75Aug 22, 2025
If your Sp Air Air Compressor does not switch off and the safety valve discharges, it could be due to a faulty pressure switch or a faulty safety valve. In either case, the suggested solution is to replace the faulty component.

What causes my Sp Air Construction Air Compressor pump to run too hot?
    • C
      Christopher MartinAug 26, 2025
If the Sp Air Air Compressor pump runs excessively hot, potentially melting the air filter enclosures, several factors could be the cause. First, check that the compressor pulley turns in the correct direction and change the electric motor wiring connections if incorrect. The ambient temperature might be too high, or there might be insufficient ventilation; reduce the ambient temperature and/or improve ventilation by moving the compressor away from walls or other equipment. Low oil level can also cause overheating, so add oil. An excessive duty cycle can contribute to this problem, so reduce air demand or use larger or additional compressors. Finally, damaged or worn compressor pump valves and/or blown cylinder head gaskets should be replaced.

Why is my Sp Air Air Compressor pump not reaching full speed?
    • T
      thomas13Aug 28, 2025
If the Sp Air Air Compressor pump does not come up to speed, it could be due to a few reasons. Check for a loose motor pulley, loose compressor flywheel, or loose/worn V-belts; tighten or replace the pulleys as needed, ensure proper alignment, and adjust the V-belt tension. Low supply voltage can also cause this issue; check the no-load and full-load supply voltage, upgrade the power supply circuit if required, and disconnect any other appliances on the same supply circuit. Additionally, damaged or worn compressor pump valves and/or blown head gaskets should be replaced. Lastly, a partially seized compressor pump should be repaired or replaced.

How to fix a Sp Air Construction that loses pressure when off?
    • M
      mark24Aug 30, 2025
If the Sp Air Air Compressor's air receiver tank isn't holding pressure when the compressor is off and the discharge outlet valve is closed, this could be due to a faulty non-return valve, which should be repaired or replaced. Alternatively, there could be air leaks, in which case you should tighten, refit, or replace any leaking connections or components.

Why does my Sp Air Construction continuously discharge air after it's turned off?
    • C
      carrieriveraSep 1, 2025
If you observe a continuous discharge of air from the pressure switch after the Sp Air Air Compressor reaches cut-out pressure or is manually switched off, the cause is a faulty non-return valve. The solution is to repair or replace the non-return valve.

Why does the oil in my Sp Air Air Compressor look milky?
    • R
      Richard ChenSep 4, 2025
If you notice oil appearing 'milky' in the sight glass of your Sp Air Air Compressor, it indicates water contamination in the oil. To resolve this, replace the oil and move the compressor to a less damp or humid location.

Why is my Sp Air Construction Air Compressor constantly discharging air from the pressure switch while pumping?
    • J
      Joseph ZimmermanSep 5, 2025
If you see continuous discharge of air from the pressure switch during the pumping mode of your Sp Air Air Compressor, the issue is a faulty unloader valve in the pressure switch. The suggested solution is to replace the unloader valve or the complete pressure switch.

    Brenda PhelpsSep 8, 2025
What causes no air discharge from the Sp Air Construction Air Compressor pressure switch after it shuts off?
    • R
      Rebecca SpencerSep 8, 2025
If there's no short discharge of air from the pressure switch after the Sp Air Air Compressor reaches cut-out pressure or is manually switched off, it could be due to a faulty unloader valve in the pressure switch, in which case you should replace the unloader valve or the complete pressure switch. Alternatively, the unloading line might be blocked or damaged, requiring cleaning or replacement. A blocked or faulty non-return valve could also be the cause, needing cleaning, repair, or replacement.

Why does the oil in my Sp Air Construction Air Compressor look black?
    • C
      Christopher VegaSep 10, 2025
If the oil in your Sp Air Air Compressor appears black in the sight glass, it could be due to graphite carry-over from the cast iron material, but only if it's the initial oil fill; in this case, replace the oil. Alternatively, the oil might be dirty or overheated, whether it's the initial fill or a subsequent one; replace the oil and check for compressor pump overheating.

    Dr. Kayla BrownSep 12, 2025
Why is my Sp Air Construction losing suction and blowing air out of the filter?
    • J
      Joseph HernandezSep 12, 2025
If you are experiencing low suction or air blowing out at the air filter inlets during the pumping mode of your Sp Air Air Compressor, it is likely due to damaged or worn compressor pump inlet valves and/or blown cylinder head gaskets. Replace the compressor pump inlet valves and/or cylinder head gaskets to resolve this issue.
