The design of the standard adapter provided with the
insb"Ument was changed in 1986. The current adapter (Cat.
No. 333178) accommodates a 1/2" diameter test tube or a 1/2"
square cuvette. Prior to 1986, the standard adapter (Cat.
No. 333127) accommodated only the 1f2" diameter test tube.
To identify the standard adapter easily, turn the adapter
bottom end up and look into the barrel of the adapter.
Figure 4-1 illustrates the pre-1986 design which will not
accommodate a Y2" square cuvette. This can be replaced with a
current adapter (Cat. No. 333178) to accommodate Y2" square
cuvettes.
