5) Shift Lock Release in P Positions
Although the brake pedal is depressed, if you cannot shift out of “P” with the ignition switch in
ON, please apply the following instruction:
Apply the parking brake firmly and turn the
ignition off.
Depress the brake pedal and push down the
shift lock release lever with a stick such as a
pen. Then, shift the lever to other positions.
