Overview

The SSP MA Series Public Address System, available in models MA150 and MA350, is a versatile audio solution designed for public address applications. This user-friendly system integrates a pre-amplifier, allowing direct connection of sound sources for immediate playback.

Function Description

The MA Series system serves as a central hub for audio distribution, offering a comprehensive set of inputs and outputs to cater to various needs. It features multiple output options, including main outputs configurable for 4-16Ω, 70V, or 100V, and five independent 100V zones. This zonal control allows for flexible audio distribution to different areas.

For inputs, the system provides three auxiliary inputs, two microphone inputs with a priority function, a USB/SD card reader, FM radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. This wide array of input options ensures compatibility with various audio sources, from traditional wired connections to modern wireless streaming.

Individual control is a key feature, with separate volume controls for each of the five zones, the three auxiliary inputs, the two microphone inputs, the USB/SD player, and bass/treble equalization. This granular control allows for precise audio tailoring in different environments.

The system is equipped with several protection mechanisms to ensure reliable and safe operation. These include over-current protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, DC protection, and a boot time delay.

  • Play/Pause (Short Press) / Enable/Disable Mode (Long Press): Controls playback and mode switching for the integrated media player.
  • Remote Receiver: For infrared remote control operation.
  • Mode Switch (Short Press) / MP3 Player Off/On (Long Press): Switches between input modes and turns the MP3 player on or off.

The back panel offers essential connectivity:

  • COM: Common terminal for speaker connections.
  • 4-16Ω SPK OUTPPUT: Speaker output for low impedance speakers.
  • 70V SPK OUTPUT & 100V SPK OUTPUT: Speaker outputs for constant voltage (70V/100V) distributed speaker systems.
  • ZONE1, ZONE2, ZONE3 100V SPK OUT: Dedicated 100V outputs for individual zones.
  • LINE OUTPUT & LINE INPUT: For connecting external audio devices at line level.
  • POWER PLUG (Built-in FUSE): Power input with an integrated fuse for protection.
  • GROUND BOLT: For grounding the unit.

Connection and Operation Guidelines:

  1. Verify that the power supply voltage matches the machine's requirements.
  2. Always turn off the power before connecting any input or output devices.
  3. Ensure that the speaker load is compatible with the machine's specifications.
  4. When powering on, turn down the main volume to prevent sudden loud sounds or system overload.

Maintenance Features

The MA Series is designed with reliability in mind, incorporating several protective features:

  • Short Circuit Protection: While robust, users are advised to avoid short circuits to prolong the service life of the unit.
  • Over-current Protection: Safeguards the system from excessive current draw.
  • Over-voltage Protection: Protects against damage from voltage spikes.
  • DC Protection: Prevents direct current from reaching the speakers, which could cause damage.
  • Boot Time Delay: Ensures a smooth power-up sequence, protecting connected components.

Handling and Environmental Considerations:

  • The machine should be packaged to be moisture-proof during storage and transport.
  • Care should be taken to prevent vibration during handling to avoid internal damage.
  • In case of system overload, the volume should be immediately reduced.
  • If the local power grid experiences significant fluctuations or consistently exceeds 240V, an AC stabilized voltage power supply is recommended to ensure stable operation.

The SSP MA Series Public Address System is a robust and flexible solution for various audio distribution needs, offering a balance of performance, control, and protective features.
