Overview

The Stagg HEADBANGERXT (SLI MHW HBXT) is a professional moving head lighting fixture designed for various applications, offering a range of control modes and features for dynamic light shows.

Function Description:

The HEADBANGERXT is a moving head light that can operate in five different modes: DMX control, sound active, automatic, manual setup, and Master/Slave configuration. It features built-in programs suitable for single-unit operation or multi-unit master/slave setups. The fixture is designed to project beams, with the recommendation to use fog or special effects smoke to enhance the visual impact. It is crucial to avoid looking directly into the light source due to the risk of severe eye damage. The device is equipped with an auto-switching power supply, accommodating a wide range of input voltages (AC100V~240V, 50-60Hz). Power can be daisy-chained, with recommendations not to exceed 30 fixtures on a 16A 220V socket or 15 fixtures on a 16A 110V socket. For DMX control, it uses a 3-pin XLR DMX in and out connection and requires a 110 Ohm DMX cable to prevent data corruption. A DMX terminator is recommended for the last fixture in a DMX chain.

Usage Features:

The HEADBANGERXT offers comprehensive control and customization through its front buttons and LCD display.

  • DMX Address Setup: Users can set the DMX address (from 001 to 512) via the "Addr" menu.
  • Channel Mode Setup: The fixture supports 9CH or 12CH DMX channel modes, selectable through the "Chan" menu.
  • Pan/Tilt Inversion Setup: The "Inu" menu allows for independent inversion of Pan and Tilt movements (180° reversed) or deactivation of inversion for normal movements.
  • Static Setup (Manual Mode): In "Stat" mode, users can manually adjust DMX channel parameters (0-255) directly from the display, mimicking remote DMX control for static angle, color, and intensity settings. This includes control over Pan, Tilt, Pan/Tilt Speed, Dimmer, Red, Green, Blue, and White channels.
  • Automatic Programs Setup: The "Auto" menu provides access to 8 built-in automatic programs ("Aut1" to "Aut8"). For each program, users can adjust the global dimmer intensity ("dInn") and the running speed ("Sped").
  • Sound Active Programs Setup: The "Soun" menu offers 2 sound-active programs ("Soun1" and "Soun2"). Users can adjust the global dimmer intensity ("dInn") and microphone sensitivity ("SenS") for each program.
  • Slave Mode: When set to "SLAv," the fixture acts as a slave, listening to DMX input from a master HeadBanger XT. Master mode is activated by using Automatic Program Mode, Sound Active Mode, or Static Mode on the master unit. Multiple slaves can be connected, limited by the total DMX cable length.
  • Pan/Tilt Range Setup: The "rang" feature allows users to limit the movement range of both Pan and Tilt in automatic and sound-active programs. By defining start and stop values (0-255), the pan/tilt movements can be restricted to a specific range. The fixture moves in real-time to indicate the chosen positions.
  • Display Inversion: The "dISp" menu allows for inverting the display by 180°, which is useful when the fixture is hung upside-down.

Maintenance Features:

  • Factory Default Reset: The "deFa" menu allows users to reset all user-modified values back to factory defaults.
  • Reset Sensors: The "rSt" menu initiates a start-up reset cycle, resetting all positions and sensors.

Safety and Installation:

  • The product can be hung or placed on a solid surface.
  • When hanging, a suitable mounting position, clamp, or screw strong enough to hold the product without stress must be used, along with a safety wire.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 0.5m from all objects or persons.
  • Installation should be performed by a trained professional.
  • Ensure good ventilation for the light.
  • Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture to prevent electrical shock or fire.
  • Avoid spilling or splashing liquids on the device. If this occurs, unplug the power cable immediately.
  • The device conforms to EMC Directive (2004/108/CE), CE marking Directive (93/68/EEC), Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC), WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC) for separate collection and recycling, and RoHS Directive (2002/95EC) restricting hazardous substances like Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Buphenyl (PBB), and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE).
  • In case of malfunction after following instructions, contact the dealer; do not open the device.
