Make sure the strainer cover is locked firmly in position. Also, tighten any loose pipe or union connections on the suction side. Remove the strainer housing cover or skimmer cover, clean the basket, and refill the strainer housing with water, then tighten the cover. If the suction side is clogged, contact a qualified repair professional.
