Overview

The Starkey Hearing Technologies TV streamer is a device designed to enhance the listening experience for users of Livio™ AI and Livio hearing aids by streaming audio directly from various electronic sources. It facilitates a seamless connection between audio devices and hearing aids, allowing users to enjoy clear sound from televisions, computers, and other media.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Starkey Hearing Technologies TV streamer is to wirelessly transmit audio from electronic sources to compatible Livio AI and Livio hearing aids. This allows hearing aid users to hear audio directly in their hearing aids, bypassing external speakers and potentially improving clarity and understanding, especially in noisy environments or when listening from a distance. The device supports both analog and digital audio inputs, making it versatile for connection to a wide range of audio sources. Once paired, the TV streamer and hearing aids automatically recognize each other, providing a convenient and consistent listening experience.

Basic Setup:

  • Simultaneous Users: An unlimited number of Livio AI and/or Livio hearing aid users can connect to the TV streamer at one time, sharing the same listening experience.
  • Supported Sources: Televisions, computers, MP3 players, DVD players, cable boxes, Amazon® Echo, and Echo Dot (via 3.5mm Jack).
  • Volume Adjustment: Streamed audio volume can be adjusted via the hearing aid user control, the TV streamer itself, a remote control, or the Thrive™ Hearing app.
  • Starting Streaming:
    • Hearing Aid User Control: Push & Hold or Double Tap (Double Tap feature available only on Livio AI products).
    • Remote Control: Favorite Button.
    • Thrive Hearing app.
  • Stopping Streaming:
    • The TV device is powered off.
    • A phone call via direct mobile phone connection or connection with Remote Microphone + is received. Streaming stops after the call concludes and needs to be manually restarted.
    • The user walks out of the wireless range (Up to 45 feet or 15 meters). Streaming stops and needs to be manually restarted upon re-entry into range.

Maintenance Features:

The manual does not explicitly detail maintenance features such as cleaning or battery replacement for the TV streamer itself. However, it implies that the device is designed for continuous use once set up. The pairing process is a one-time setup, and the hearing aids and TV streamer will automatically recognize each other afterward, minimizing ongoing user intervention. The use of standard micro USB for power suggests easy replacement of power components if needed. The device's robust connectivity options and automatic recognition features contribute to its ease of use and low maintenance requirements for the end-user.
