  • Accessories: Draw bar, Turn Table & Walker Mower Catcher Door Kit

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The manual provides detailed diagrams and instructions for assembling the discharge chute, infeed chute, and wheel & axle.
  • Starting Procedure:
    1. Disengage the belt drive by pulling the lever counter-clockwise.
    2. Turn the fuel valve to ON.
    3. Move the choke lever to CLOSED (may not be needed if the engine is warm).
    4. Move the throttle lever to the half-way position.
    5. Turn the engine switch to ON.
    6. Pull the starter grip briskly after feeling resistance.
    7. Gradually move the choke lever to OPEN after a few seconds.
  • Engaging the Rotor Disk: With the engine running at about one-third revs, gradually and slowly engage the belt tension lever clockwise until it stops. This allows the cutting disk to pick up speed without stalling the engine. Then, increase the engine to full speed.
  • Shutdown Procedure:
    1. Push the throttle control lever to the idle position.
    2. Turn the switch to STOP.
    3. Allow the rotor to come to a standstill.
  • Operation Guidelines:
    • Position the machine on level, stable ground to avoid vibrations.
    • Maintain proper balance and footing; do not overreach or stand at a higher level than the machine's base when feeding material.
    • Feed only clean material; foreign matter like soil, sand, grit, stones, or metal will damage cutting knives.
    • Process freshly cut materials as they are easier to handle and less likely to blunt knives quickly.
    • Feed limbs and branches butt end first, leaving bushy heads on to guide them down and reduce spinning.
    • Use a wooden stick (approx. 60mm diameter x 600mm long) to push short, brushy, and leafy materials and keep the infeed chute clear.
    • If the machine clogs, shut off the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and ensure the rotor has stopped before cleaning.
    • Do not overload the chipper; slow down feeding if the rotor slows.
    • Maximum capacity is 70mm diameter branches; adjust length based on wood type and hardness.
    • Paper and cardboard can be processed, with better results if wet.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always wear safety equipment (safety glasses, ear muffs, work gloves).
    • Avoid loose-fitting clothing.
    • Check all fasteners and guards before starting.
    • Handle fuels with extreme care; use an approved container, never refuel with the engine running, and avoid smoking.
    • Never refuel or store the machine indoors near open flames.
    • Keep children and spectators clear of the work area.
    • Do not put hands or any body part into the infeed chute or near moving parts.
    • Do not run the machine in enclosed areas due to carbon monoxide risk.
    • Shut down the machine before shifting it.
    • Ensure the engine and cutting disk are at a complete standstill before opening the cutting disk housing or inspecting/servicing.
    • Disconnect the spark plug wire before inspecting or servicing.
    • Do not operate with blunt blades, as this causes excessive vibration.
    • Do not disengage the belt drive with the machine running at full revs.
    • Do not tamper with engine governor settings.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance:
    • Disconnect the spark plug wire and allow the machine to cool before any servicing, inspection, or adjustments.
    • Keep the machine clean by blowing, brushing, or wiping; DO NOT WASH OR USE WATER.
    • Store out of reach of children and away from open flames/sparks.
    • For extended storage, run the unit dry of fuel.
  • Service & Maintenance Schedule: The manual provides a detailed schedule for various components, indicating frequency (before each use, every 8 hours, every 25 hours, every 50 hours) and required action (check/fill, replace, check condition & gap, check tightness, re-torque, clean, lube).
    • Engine oil change: More frequent under dusty conditions.
    • Chipper blade re-sharpening/re-torque: More frequent when chipping dry or dirty wood.
    • Chipper anvil re-torque: More frequent when chipping dry or dirty wood.
  • Chipper Blade Re-sharpening:
    • Blunt blades cause loss of self-feeding action and produce long strips.
    • Blades can be turned over to use a new edge or removed for sharpening.
    • Remove blades by opening the discharge chute and using a 13mm ring spanner.
    • Sharpen blades on a surface grinder or replace them. The cutting angle is critical (45°).
    • Remount blades with shims, ensuring clean surfaces. Use Thread locker 269 Loctite and torque to 18.6 ft-lb.
    • Maintain a 2mm clearance between the blade and anvil.
  • Shredder Knife Maintenance:
    • Inspect for edge damage; turn knives to use a new edge or replace them.
    • Remove M6 x 30 bolt and nyloc nut to turn or replace.
    • WARNING: Replace knives in a set to maintain rotor balance. Ensure all spacers and washers are in correct position. Always use new M6 x 30 bolts and nyloc nuts.
  • Anvil Adjustment:
    • The anvil is reversible and has four edges. Sharpen or replace when edges are worn.
    • Maintain a 2mm clearance between the blade and anvil (cardboard can be used as a gauge).
    • Tighten anvil bolts to 40 ft-lb.
    • Insufficient clearance can cause blade damage; too much clearance allows material to pass uncut.
  • Belt Tension & Replacement:
    • Instructions and diagrams are provided for both CS7-205V (1 belt) and CS7-305V (2 belts).
    • To replace, remove the top 2 hex bolts for the belt cover, then 4 hex bolts and nyloc nuts to loosen the engine. The pulley belt(s) will then be loose enough to remove.
    • After fitting a new belt, ensure all pulleys are inline using a straight edge.
