Gearbox Wheel
Have a worn wheel replaced by your
dealer. STIHL recommends that you
have all maintenance and repair work
performed by a STIHL servicing dealer.
The wheel helps protect the
gearbox from wear. If the gearbox
wheel is worn, also check the wear
guard (arrow) and the gearbox for
signs of damage – see “Checking
and Replacing the Wear Guard”.
Removing the skirt
: Loosen the screw (1) on the
clamp (2) and slide the clamp back
along the drive tube in the direction
of the engine.
: Release screws (3) on arm (4) and
remove together with arm.
: Pull end (5) of skirt out from under
the lip on the deflector.
: Pull the skirt upward until the slot (6)
is visible.
