N Unscrew and remove screw (3) on
shutter
N Remove shutter (2) from the shroud
N Rotate shutter (2) from summer
position to winter position and
reinsert
N Screw the screw (3) through the
shutter into the shroud
At temperatures between +10 °C and
+20 °C
Within this temperature range, the
machine can normally be operated with
the shutter (2) in summer position.
Change the position of the shutter as
necessary.
At temperatures above +20 °C
N Always return the shutter (2) to
summer position
Do not use the machine in winter
operation at temperatures above
+20 °C, otherwise there is a risk of
engine damage due to overheating!
At temperatures below -10 °C
Under extreme winter conditions with
the following conditions
– Temperatures below -10 °C
– Powdered or drifting snow
use of the "cover plate kit", which is
available as a special accessory, is
recommended.
Depending on the filler cap version, two
different "cover plate kits" are available.
The "cover plate kits" contain the
following parts for converting the
machine:
4 Cover plate for partially covering the
slits in the starter housing
5 Filter insert made of cloth and
plastic for the air filter
– Information sheet describing
conversion of the machine
Additionally for machines with a cliplock
filler cap:
– O-ring for the filler cap
After installation of the cover plate kit:
N Set shutter (2) to winter operation
At temperatures above -10 °C
N Reconvert the machine and replace
the parts from the "cover plate kit"
with the parts for summer operation
Notice for machines with a cliplock filler
cap: The O-ring installed on the filler cap
with the "cover plate kit" can remain on
the machine.
Depending on the ambient temperature:
N Set shutter (2) to summer or winter
operation
