● Remove the battery if necessary.
● Reattach screws, washers and nuts to
the battery negative (–) and positive (+)
terminals for safe keeping.
● Close the battery compartment if
necessary. (Ö 14.17)
Connecting the battery:
● Set the battery down.
● If necessary, remove the bolts, washers
and nuts from the battery.
Positive terminal (+): Attach the terminal
connector of red connection cable (6) to
the battery positive terminal with bolt (3),
washer (4) and nut (1).
Tighten the connection using two A/F8
spanners.
Tightening torque: 4 - 5 Nm
Fit cap (5) to completely cover the
connection.
Negative terminal (–): Attach the terminal
connector of black connection cable (2)
with bolt (3), washer (4) and nut (1) to the
battery negative terminal.
Tighten the connection using two A/F8
spanners.
Tightening torque: 4 - 5 Nm
● Insert the battery.
Removing the battery:
● Disconnect the battery. (Ö 14.18)
● Pull out the battery.
Inserting the battery:
● Open the battery
compartment. (Ö 14.17)
● Connect the battery. (Ö 14.18)
Insert the battery (1). Stow both
connection cables in the battery
compartment properly.
● Close the battery
compartment. (Ö 14.17)
14.19 Charging the battery using the
charger plug
The STIHL ACB 010 battery float charger
or the STIHL ADL 012 diagnostic charger
(neither included in standard equipment)
can be connected.
Only float charging can be performed with
the STIHL ACB 010 battery float charger.
Both float charging and full charging
(charging an empty battery) can be
performed with the ADL 012 diagnostic
charger.
Check the charge state before
installing the battery.
If the minimum voltage is not
achieved, fully recharge the battery
using a battery charger before
installation.
Minimum voltage: 11,5 V
