Overview

The Dux Keyboard Trackpad USB-C is a brilliantly designed keyboard case that enhances the iPad experience with rugged bump protection, storage for Apple Pencil 1, Pencil USB-C, or Logitech Crayon, a full-function trackpad, and USB-C connectivity.

Function Description:

This device serves as a protective case and an input extension for an iPad. It integrates a keyboard and a trackpad, transforming the iPad into a more versatile workstation. The keyboard features dedicated keys for iPad functions such as the Home button, screen brightness control (decrease and increase), Spotlight Search, on-screen keyboard toggle, Dictation/Siri activation, Screenshot, media control (previous track, play/pause, next track), sound control (mute, volume decrease, volume increase), and a language switch key. The trackpad allows for precise navigation and supports various multi-touch gestures. The integrated USB-C port facilitates iPad charging and data transfer, while an auxiliary port provides headphone connectivity.

Important Technical Specifications:

USB-C Port:

  • iPad Charging: Type C Power Delivery (PD) 3.1, supporting up to 12V/2.5A fast charging (up to 30W). Optimal charging is achieved with a 20W wall plug. Specific current and charging time depend on the wall plug used (not included).
  • Pencil Connection and Charging: Allows connection and charging of Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon (using cable and adapter, not included).
  • Data Transfer: USB2.0, supporting speeds up to 480 Mbps. Facilitates data exchange with external peripheral devices such as USB-C headphones, webcams, microscopes (apps may be needed for iPad to read accessories), USB-C memory sticks (for uploading/transferring files, images, and videos), and a mouse.
  • Note: The USB-C port on the keyboard does not support external screen mirroring (DisplayPort) or direct connection to a laptop. For these functions, the cable connecting the keyboard to the iPad must be unplugged, and the iPad's own USB-C port used.

Auxiliary Port:

  • Type: 3.5mm female headphone jack.
  • Compatibility: Works with TRS (audio only) and TRRS (audio and microphone) in/output headphones.
  • Resistance: 160 and 320.
