OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STREAMLIGHT 18650
USB LI-ION BATTERY CHARGER
• SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. This document contains important
safety, operating and maintenance information for your charger.
• CAUTION: To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury,
do not attempt to use this charger to recharge other manufacturer’s
batteries.
• Do not use a damaged charger.
• Do not place any metal objects onto the charging terminals located in
the charger.
• Do not disassemble or try to repair the charger. Return it to a
qualified service facility or the factory.
• Use only Streamlight 18650 battery P/N 22101. Recycle worn out or
damaged batteries properly.
• CAUTION: To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury,
handle the battery carefully and never allow it to short circuit. Do not
incinerate the battery as it may explode in a fire.
CHARGER
The 18650 USB Li-Ion battery charger can charge one or two batteries at
the same time. The charger is equipped with dual power input ports. The
overlapping design prevents both the 5V USB input and the 12VDC vehicle
input to be connected at the same time. An AC/USB adapter with custom
USB cable or custom USB cable only is supplied to attach to the charger.
Place the small micro-USB plug of the custom USB cable (SL logo up) into
the USB connector sleeve (marked with SL logo) that is located on the base
of the charger. The micro-USB plug and connector on the charger base are
keyed and contain a locking feature and will “snap” into place. Connect
the AC/USB power supply to a wall outlet or connect the cord only model
to any other standard, powered USB outlet.
CHARGING
Note: Fully charge batteries before use. The batteries may be stored in the
charger continuously, there is no danger of overcharge.
To charge the 18650 battery, insert it into either battery location in the
charger. Place the negative end of the battery into the spring end of the
charger (polarity is also marked in the battery cradle). The LED below the
negative end of the battery should light to indicate charging has begun.
LED CHARGE INDICATORS
The red LED on the charger housing must light to ensure the battery is
being charged.
• Charging…LED is steady.
• Charged…LED pulses shortly every second.
• Error…LED pulses rapidly. This may be caused by out of range
temperature or input voltage.
• It is normal for the indicator to switch between steady and pulse as
the battery is “topped off”.
Charge time is approximately 3.5 hours for one battery or 6.5 hours for two
batteries when using Streamlight AC adapters or 12VDC input. When
charging from a PC or other limited USB power source, charge time may
increase due to reduced power available from the USB power source.
NOTE: When charging two batteries at the same time, the left location has
priority and will complete the charge process first.

CARGADOR
El cargador de pilasde ión-litio 18650 USB puede cargar una o dos pilas al
mismo tiempo. El cargador está equipado con puertos de entrada de
alimentación dobles. El diseño solapado evita que se conecten la entrada
USB de 5 V y la entrada del vehículo de 12 V CA al mismo tiempo. Se
proporciona un adaptador de CA/USB con cable USB a medida o cable USB
a medida solamente para acoplarlo al cargador. Coloque el micro enchufe
USB pequeño del cable USB a medida (logo SL hacia arriba) en el manguito
del conector USB (marcado con el logo SL) que está situado en la base del
cargador. El micro enchufe USB y el conector de la base del cargador están
marcados y contienen una función de bloqueo y encajan en su sitio.

CARGA

ºC Y 46,1 ºC (20 ºF y 115º F) siendo el rango de temperatura óptimo de 10 ºC
Y 30 ºC (50 ºF y 86 ºF). Un circuito de seguridad evita cargar fuera del rango
máximo y el LED de carga rojo parpadeará rápidamente. Cuando la
temperatura se encuentre dentro del intervalo aceptable, continuará la carga.
MONTAJE DEL CARGADOR
El cargador ha sido diseñado para descansar sobre una superficie. Se
proporcionan orificios de montaje para tornillos autorroscantes n.º 8 para
su montaje, si se desea.
• No deberá montar nunca el cargador contra una superficie sensible al
calor.
• Antes de perforar cualquier orificio de montaje, asegúrese de que haya
espacio para insertar y extraer las pilas.

Streamlight en un vehículo
INSTALACIÓN EN VEHÍCULOS
Hay un cable de alimentación de 12 V CA (N/P 22051) equipado con un

IMPORTANT: Maximum charging temperature range is 20°F to 115°F with
optimal temperature range between 50°F and 86°F. A safety circuit
prevents charging outside the maximum range and the red charge LED will
pulse rapidly. When temperature is within an acceptable range charging
will resume.
CHARGER MOUNTING
The charger is designed to rest on a table top. Mounting holes have been
provided for #8 self-tapping screws for optional mounting.
• The charger should never be mounted against any heat sensitive
surface.
• Before drilling mounting holes, make sure there is room to insert and
remove the batteries.
• Two (2) #8 self-tapping screws are required (not included) to mount the
charger. The correct drill size for these screws in sheet metal is 1/8."

the following sections
INSTALLATION IN VEHICLES
An optional 12V DC power cord (P/N 22051) equipped with a cigarette plug
is available for mounting a Streamlight charger in a vehicle. The cigarette
plug can be removed and the wires can be attached directly to a power
source for a more permanent installation. (A two amp fuse must be used
on the positive lead.) NOTE: USB input cord must be disconnected from
the charger before attempting to plug in the 12VDC power cord to the
charger.
IMPORTANT: Before making electrical connections in a vehicle, keep in
mind that a shorted auto battery can easily start a fire. Make all
connections with insulated lugs or other connectors intended for such use.
Be sure that your installation is fused.
The striped power lead is positive and the unmarked lead is negative.
When connecting the charger to a fuse block, the striped, positive power
lead goes to the connector that is dead when the vehicle's fuse is removed.
The charger body is electrically isolated from the charge circuit and allows
positive ground installations. The charger is polarity protected, and if
connected in reverse polarity, simply won’t operate until connected properly.
Streamlight recommends connecting the charger to an unswitched source
of power to ensure the batteries are always fully charged. If the vehicle
will not be driven for several days, the batteries should be removed from
the charger to avoid vehicle battery drain. Charging two batteries with the
18650 USB battery charger will draw about .5 amperes for up to 6.5 hours
during charging. The charger will draw less than .01 amperes when in
maintenance mode once the batteries are fully charged.
USB 18650 Li-Ion BATTERY
The USB 18650 Button Top Li-Ion battery includes a micro USB port built
into the battery that allows the battery to be charged without the battery
cradle. Insert the micro-USB plug into the battery to charge the battery.
Charge indicators on the top of the battery will light.
BATTERY CHARGE INDICATORS
- Charging - Red LED is on steady.
- Charged - Green LED is on steady.
Charge time is approximately 5.5 hours.

Streamlight warrants this product to be free of defects for a lifetime
of use except for batteries and bulbs, abuse and normal wear. We will
repair, replace or refund the purchase price of this product should we
determine it to be defective. This limited lifetime warranty also
excludes rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches and electronics
which have a 2 year warranty with proof of purchase. THIS IS THE
ONLY WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A
